Tanya Gupta 12th Mar, 2024

Hello,

Yes, you can take the DU JAT even if you are a humanities student without math as your main subject. The DU JAT primarily tests your proficiency in Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General English, and Business and General Awareness. While a background in mathematics may be helpful for some sections, you can certainly prepare yourself for the exam with dedicated study and practice. Focus on strengthening your skills in areas like reasoning, analytical thinking, and general awareness to maximize your chances of success in the DU.

Hope this helps you ,

Statement 1: Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) allow foreign companies to raise funds in their home country's markets.

Statement 2: GDRs are issued by domestic companies in international markets.

Option 1: Statement 1 is true, and statement 2 is false.

Option 2: Statement 1 is false, and statement 2 is true.

Option 3: Both statements 1 and 2 are true.

Option 4: Both statements 1 and 2 are false.

Team Careers360 22nd Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Statement 1 is false, and statement 2 is true.

Solution : The correct answer is (b) Statement 1 is false, and statement 2 is true.

Statement 1 is false. Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) allow foreign companies to raise funds in international markets, not in their home country's markets. GDRs are issued in a foreign country's stock exchange and denominated in the currency of that country.

Statement 2 is true. GDRs are issued by domestic companies (companies from a particular country) in international markets. These companies issue GDRs to attract investment from international investors. The GDRs are listed and traded on foreign stock exchanges, providing an avenue for foreign investment.

Question : Rahul sold a box for INR 1,440 at a loss of 40%. What should the selling price of the box be to enable Rahul to earn a profit of 40%?

Option 1: INR 2,592

Option 2: INR 3,480

Option 3: INR 3,120

Option 4: INR 3,360

Team Careers360 21st Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: INR 3,360

Solution : Selling price = INR 1,440
Loss = 40% of cost price
Cost price = selling price + loss
⇒ Cost price = 1440 + 40% of cost price
⇒ 60% of cost price = 1440
⇒ Cost price = $\frac{1440}{0.6}$ = INR 2400
Profit = 40% of cost price = 0.4 × 2400 = INR 960
So, the selling price = cost price + profit = 2400 + 960 = INR 3,360
Hence, the correct answer is INR 3,360.

Question : What is the value of $\left(k-\frac{1}{k}\right)\left(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2}\right)\left(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4}\right)\left(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8}\right)\left(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}}\right) ?$

Option 1: $k^{64}-\frac{1}{k^{64}}$

Option 2: $\frac{k^{32}-\frac{1}{k^{32}}}{k-\frac{1}{k}}$

Option 3: $k^{32}-\frac{1}{k^{32}}$

Option 4: $\frac{k^{32}-\frac{1}{k^{32}}}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$

Team Careers360 20th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: $\frac{k^{32}-\frac{1}{k^{32}}}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$

Solution : Consider, $\left(k-\frac{1}{k}\right)\left(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2}\right)\left(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4}\right)\left(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8}\right)\left(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}}\right)$
Multiplying and dividing by $(k+\frac{1}{k})$
⇒ $\left(k-\frac{1}{k}\right)\left(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2}\right)\left(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4}\right)\left(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8}\right)\left(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}}\right)=\frac{(k-\frac{1}{k})(k+\frac{1}{k})(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2})(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4})(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8})(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}})}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
Now using, $(a+b)(a-b)=a^2 - b^2$
⇒ $\left(k-\frac{1}{k}\right)\left(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2}\right)\left(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4}\right)\left(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8}\right)\left(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}}\right)=\frac{(k^2-\frac{1}{k^2})(k^2+\frac{1}{k^2})(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4})(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8})(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}})}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
$=\frac{(k^4-\frac{1}{k^4})(k^4+\frac{1}{k^4})(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8})(k^{16}+\frac{1}{k^{16}})}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
$=\frac{(k^8-\frac{1}{k^8})(k^8+\frac{1}{k^8})(k^{16} + \frac{1}{k^{16}})}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
$=\frac{(k^{16} - \frac{1}{k^{16}})(k^{16} + \frac{1}{k^{16}})}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
$=\frac{k^{32} - \frac{1}{k^{32}}}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$
Hence, the correct answer is $\frac{k^{32} - \frac{1}{k^{32}}}{k+\frac{1}{k}}$.

my ews jee mains rank is 68000 is there any chance of getting best college in delhi ncr

ayanmukherjee045 27th Sep, 2023

Hello Aspirant,

The cut offs depends upon certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the paper.

You can participate in the JAC counseling and fill the choices like DTU , NSUT and Guru Gobind University but the problem is your rank is a bit low for these colleges so you should be looking for other private colleges too to be on a safer side.
