With a GMR of 33,760 in WBJEE 2025, getting into top government colleges like Jadavpur University or Kalyani Government Engineering College is unlikely, as their cutoffs close much earlier. However, you still have a chance in some lower-tier government engineering colleges in districts (like Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, or Kalyani Government Engineering & Technology) but mostly in core branches (ME, EE, Civil, etc.), not CSE/IT.

With an SC rank of around 11,499, chances of getting top government colleges in highly competitive streams (like MBBS, BDS, or MD/MS) are very low, since most SC seats in govt. colleges close much earlier.

But if your query is for engineering, AYUSH, or paramedical courses, then there may still be chances depending on the state and cut-off. You should try for state quota counselling as SC category cut-offs are relatively relaxed there compared to All India Quota.

If you want to cancel your admission in Polytechnic, you need to contact the college where you took admission. Visit the admission office and submit a written application for cancellation.

They will guide you about the process and refund (if applicable) as per their rules. It is better to do it as early as possible.
