Yes, obc is a criteria which is approved by government for reservations in government sectors. The system of reservation in India comprises reserving access to seats in the various legislatures, to government jobs, and to enrollment in higher educational institutions.
In Andhra Pradesh, 29% of educational institutes and government jobs are reserved for OBCs.
