To practice as an allopathy doctor you need to hold a mbbs degree. With BHMS you can only be able to a homeopathic practitioner. Why a homeopathic doctor should practice allopathy. . The BHMS are qualified for homeopathic procedures only and they can not treat the patient in other way. It is a criminal offence and punishable according to concerned Medical council regulations.

But there is a bridge course , the idea behind bridge course us to let Ayush ( Ayurvedic, yoga, Unani and Siddha) ) practioners to do a short program which would allow them to practice some limited amount of allopathy.

At present there is already substantial common grounds in the syllabus of allopathy and Ayush in India.
