Correct Answer: Rs. 2,500
Solution :
Piyush sold a guitar to Anuj at a 16% gain and Anuj sold it to Mayank at a 32% gain. Mayank paid Rs. 3,828 for the guitar. Final percentage change after two successive increments of A% and B% = $(A+B+\frac{AB}{100})$% The net percentage profit from Piyush to Mayank = $(16+32+\frac{16 \times 32}{100})$% = 53.12% Selling Price = Cost Price × (100 + Gain%) Now, the cost price of the guitar to Piyush = $\frac{3828}{100+53.12}\times 100 $ = Rs. 2500 ∴ Piyush paid Rs. 2500 for the guitar. Hence, the correct answer is Rs. 2500.
