Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA LLB Hons) is 5-year full-time undergraduate course offered by Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and approved by Bar Council of India.

This undergraduate program integrates the study of Arts and Law over a span of five years. Students engage with a comprehensive curriculum that covers foundational courses in Arts subjects such as Political Science, Economics, History, and Sociology, alongside core legal subjects including Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contracts, and Legal Research Methodology. This interdisciplinary approach enables students to develop a broad-based understanding of society and the legal system, preparing them for a range of legal and non-legal careers.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate shall be eligible for admission into 5-yr B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Course, If he/she has passed +2 Examination (at least 10+2 pattern) securing a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for General category and 40% marks for (SC/ST) category.

Admission Details

Selection for admission will be made on the basis of the last qualifying examination (+2 Arts/Science/Commerce of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or its equivalent examination) marks only in the order of merit.

College Infrastructure

Although University Law College is a separate college/department of Law for Utkal University, having both graduate and postgraduate studies, it still is comparatively small and also is outside the Utkal University main campus. Though the development is going on, it will take time in order to achieve its zenith.
