24 MonthsMaster of Technology in Climate Science and Technology is two years (4 Semester) full-time postgraduate engineering program offered by the School Of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar.
This programme offers opportunity to the student to learn about dynamics of atmosphere, ocean and their interaction, dynamic and synoptic meteorology, quality control, processing and assimilation of oceanic and atmospheric data sets, modelling of oceanic and atmospheric processes and their prediction, remote sensing data and GIS applications, climate variability and global warming, global and regional climate models, impact of climate change, climate risk and vulnerability assessment, instrumentation and observation systems, marine pollution and coastal zone management, glaciology and paleoclimate, downscaling approaches (statistical and dynamical), etc. In addition, a bridge course enables the student to understand about earth and its interior.

Facilities such as modernized classrooms, well-equipped labs, and a vibrant campus atmosphere are essential for holistic learning, and there might be a need for further investments in this aspect. Improving the infrastructure could enhance the overall educational experience for students.
As a current student at IIT Bhubaneswar, I find it necessary to shed light on certain aspects that need improvement within the institution. While the academic pursuit is promising, there are concerns that hinder the overall experience. Firstly, the presence of underutilized space across the campus raises questions about its optimal usage. These spaces could be transformed into recreational areas or additional academic facilities, enhancing the overall environment for learning and growth.
