Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology admissions are given via two ways - merit of the last qualifying examination and AGC NEST examination score. The college gives admission to MTech, BVoc, MHMCT programmes on merit basis. Whereas, for admission to all other courses candidates are required to appear for the Amritsar Group of College National Entrance Scholarship Test (AGC NEST) exam. The college also offers lateral entry admission in the BTech programme. Candidates marks in the diploma are taken into consideration for BTech lateral entry admission. It is mandatory for all eligible candidates to register online on the Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology admission portal.
The AGC NEST entrance exam is conducted via online mode and candidates have the option to choose date and time of the exam as per convenience. As per ACET Amritsar admission criteria, before applying for AGC NEST exam candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the courses they are wishing to pursue.
At the undergraduate level, the college offers 21 courses to the students. BTech Computer Science and Engineering, BTech Mechanical Engineering, BA Journalism and Mass Communication etc. are some of the popular undergraduate programmes offered by the college. The duration of UG courses range from 3 years to 4 years.

Aspirants meeting the eligibility criteria need to fill the ACET Amritsar application form.
