All the good things you hear, read and see about this college are mostly true, except:- >hostel >hostel food is so bad, you can't stand it for more than 2 months if you are a fresher, if not, you will not even bother eating in mess. >you cant enter the hostel after 10:30pm (boys) and 10:00pm (girls) unless you have peremission from the warden, not sure about girls >outside food and friends are not allowed inside the hostel premesis !!!!???? X( >it is mendatory for you to pay the "collection money" for some local/indian festival if seniors come to the hostel and ask for it. >no wifi >placement is sky touching only for CSE and ISE branches.. ECE is also in game, but rest are in a very poor condition, so join here only if u r getting one of those branches. >ground is so bad you will quit any outdoor sports you play right after you join the college. nearest ground with grasses in it is like 1 km away but they charge approx rs. 2000/- for 1 hr. > indoor games complex contains only 1 badminton court, table tennis hall and carrom hall.. which remains closed on saturday and sunday and any other holiday and any chance they get to close it. >college overs at an avg of 4 pm, and the indoor complex closes at 6:15 pm. >swimming pool is not there... nearest one is 2 km away and its fairly chargeable. >this is not IIT so dont expect a class faculty whose own subject knowledge is outstanding and who will take interest in teaching and most importantly, in YOU. Their primary objective is to complete the syllabus, by hook or by crook. NOTE : if i missed something, then it is surely good

MSRIT is one of the best engineering colleges in Bangalore. We get a good support from the management and department to participate in other activities too. The presence of various clubs in the college makes it easier to get to know a lot of people and also it'll help in one's overall development. MSRIT is the place to be if you wanna learn academically and also have a great college life.

This college is the place where we can learn many things. It has a great campus. The campus of MSRIT is huge. It is so vast that it feels like a small village. We can find the cream of Bangalore students here. Empathetically when it comes to teaching, it's really splendid. Placements made their full efforts towards making all the students to get placed. The facilities which are given from our college to students is awesome like Wi-Fi with high speed, updated computer labs, etc. They provide us with medical facilities in the college itself and if serious, the students are admitted to the hospital where they don't have to pay anything because the college provides health insurance card of Ramaiah Memorial Hospital to every student of the college. The library is also full of latest books which will help the students to study. The college organises sports and game activities every year. This college has the coolest environment. It has a diverse crowd. One can enjoy their college life to the fullest in this college.

An Average Institution

It totally depends on your expectations, It has decent enough campus. No greens, only concrete jungle. Still, it is a good campus. No free Wi-Fi in hostels. You can use the Internet on a laptop by connecting to LAN cable. I will talk about Mechanical engineering department. The quality of faculty is somewhere near to average. Campus Life totally depends on your friends, the college does not have much to offer. As far as industry exposure is concerned a few projects are always going in the mechanical department. The majority only focuses on marks and grade. Easy to score good grades if you are in mechanical. So if you want a decent private college which can give you 3.5 LPA job. This is the place.

Old and famous college, but does not stands upto it's name it has made. Gives exactly school like feel, worse than school in many aspects. Although very good at club activities and promotes them very nicely. MSRIT is pretty serious about studies and u can feel that here but the irony is that teaches are equally bad and uninteresting. Strict at attendance and you get holidays only at the end of every year. College and social life is really bad. People including seniors are very nice. No ragfing at all! Decent jobs... Overall a decent college with less college life.

The only college to succeed and reach heights

The college MSRIT is a wonderful college to go to compensate the loss of an IIT or an NIT seat, they will make you realise that you are no lesser than them and can reach heights with goals sky level high. The main wonderful pieces of infrastructure are the freshers block hostel, Medical college canteen, basketball, tennis courts and the gym. Although, the gym is small but quite good for a free one. There are many industrial visits and clubs formed in the college which makes it really awesome for students to get first hand corporate experience. Also, the students are also given opportunities to enroll in many free workshops which are quite cool. The main thumbs up goes to the motivation given by the teachers to take up something challenging in life and not just be a bookworm. The main things that made my college life in the first semester both memorable and fun are the kindness and the understanding of teachers as well as the wonderful learning atmosphere created by the surrounding students. Also, the canteens are another attraction which converts almost everyone into a foodie especially due to its low price. Since I am still in the first year, I dont know much about the placement reviews, but, I have heard that the placement offers are really good and even international companies recruit along with the Indian companies. Also, the highest offer was from Google for about 1.3 crores for our college students although nobody bagged this placement offer. The main thing that I would request the hostel authorities to check about the hostels are the bed bug problems especially in the freshers block, other than that ambiance though not very good, is satisfactory. This isn't the same case for the girls, because their hostels are damn posh compared to the boys hostel. The diversity ranges from a person from Jammu and Kashmir to a person from Kanyakumari with a good amount of people with different cultures and backgrounds. This gives a lot of knowledge especially to the locals like me to get to know their ways of approach to life. The student crowd is huge, but every single person is dedicated to his/her own work even if it is just gossip and don't care about random passerbys. The main thing is that although merit seats are provided, but, a large portion of the seats go to the reserved category that makes it difficult to get a seat for the general merit students even though it is considered to be slightly affordable.

The college is in the heart of Bangalore, not like other colleges which are in outskirts of the city. If you have a two wheeler you will enjoy your college life to the fullest. The college is surrounded by many good pubs and food joints. The placements are really good. And if you are in Electronics, Computer Science or Information science, the placements are really good. But beware keep your CGPA above 7.5

Batch of 2019 | B.Arch
RAMAIAH...the only college where a new building keeps popping up every weekend. The construction never ceases, and after summer vacations students generally can't recognise the college. The rumour is that the Ramaiah family should never stop construction as it is a bad omen. So I can gladly say that the infrastructure rocks and they keep developing it. Our campus has 4 canteens , large staircases, and the quadrangle. These are our addas. We would love to have a little more greenery in our campus's concrete jungle. The Archi block is the best part of the campus. We paint the walls, hang art installations and decorate everything. It is the most lively and fun place to be. We have our Archi fest INSPIRIT, where we call world-renowned architects and have a lot of fun activities. Our college conducts department fests as well as the college fest UDBHAV,and also celebrates all the festivals including Pongal, Onam, Rajyotsava, holi...etc. We have a whole range of clubs like photography, NSS, dance, music..etc. There is sure to be some event or the other happening every day in college. Our architecture faculty is good. We go for an educational and fun trip every semester, to places like goa, Pondicherry, Europe, America..etc. The hostilities have the most fun and the new hostels are pretty good. There are a wide variety of students from Qatar, Dubai and other regions. All cultures are welcomed. The college is definitely affordable for students who enter through CET or COMEDK. Overall, Ramaiah is a good college to study in as it focuses on extracurriculars as well as on studies.

3 S of M.S. Ramaiah Students Struggling and Suffering

The current building is very bad. It's not spacious enough. There is no parking space nearby and neither canteen. Students have to struggle to go to far places to have food. Dean always makes excuses for the wrongdoings. Feedback taken from students are never implemented and dean always says that "You are manager manage it". That's a ridiculous thing to say. Annual event perception is also a big failure. Placements are okay with coming like Deloitte and KPMG,ACT where a total of 10 students get placed, rest 470 have to struggle for good companies . We still have fill in the blanks for the test which is way ridiculous , feels like we are in 8th standard again. Please dont join to struggle here. Placement stats given in the website is very much wrong.

If you have the will, there are no limits to the opportunities here. Otherwise it is just another private engineering college which will give you an average package with ease. Labs are excellent in terms of quality and subjects are well thought out to help you realize your area of interest and highly industry specific. They are up to date with industry requirements and provide excellent exposure.

Life at MSRIT

MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) has a very good location. It is well connected by BMTC buses which play here from almost all parts of the city. The nearest bus stop is just about 2 minutes' walk from the main gate of college... MSRIT has separate hostels, charges for which are Rs.42,000 per year including food. Nothing about it is out of the world but they are decent, liveable ones. In fact, they are much better than old hostels which had small rooms and dirty washrooms. Girls’ hostel have tiny rooms that need to be shared with 2 or 3 more people. Mess food is not bad but you get bored of it after a while. The campus of MSRIT is huge. It is so vast that it feels like a small village. Not as strict as PESIT but strict nevertheless. 85% attendance is asked for but it will be relaxed till 75% if you have genuine medical reasons or have participated in events. They are more serious with first-year students and become somewhat lenient and more considerate 2nd year onwards. The crowd is very diverse. M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is rightly considered among top 5 colleges in Bangalore. It’s a good college for the overall development of a student as there is equal focus on studies and extra activities. And the four years spent over here will be full of enjoyment and good memories.
