College has excellent opportunities and facilities which are far better than most top NITs and other so called top ranked colleges in the country. Great labs. Many student teams and research projects. Lot of technical and cultural clubs for extra-curricular activities and overall development. Amazing location of university. Has latest updated curriculum matching the current technologies. Placements are good, specially for CSE, IT, CCE, ECE, Mech. Only drawback being, high fees and increasing intake which is decreasing the quality of students in the recent years. Hope the university management realize this soon.

My college life is peaceful and fantastic. The hostels are well furnished and neat and clean. There are a huge no. of clubs and projects which can be joined according to your interest to learn and inplement new things. Apart from these we have very good sports facilities provided by World class sports complex, Marena, for sports enthusiasts and athletes. The faculties are knowledgeable and supportive. The infrastructure is mesmerizing. Each and every classroom are equipped with AC so students can study peacefully. There is a central library which contains thousands of books and it is equipped with individual study halls and group study halls so that everyone can study in their own way. There is a huge MAHE automobile workshop in the backside of college where all the projects are carried out.

I've lived in Manipal all my life, so college at MIT was quite an obvious choice for my parents. Given that i had studied in a school run by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, I was eligible for a Scholarship for Academy of General Education Students, or SAGES, as it it popularly known. I had a good enough rank to get into Computer Science, the most coveted branch in MIT, but I was more inclined to take Mechanical Engineering. Being a girl, there was a lot of dispute in my family as to whether or not I should pursue such a male dominated stream. After much consultation with friends, family and college authorities, I finally agreed to take Electronics and Communication(ECE), the next best option (or so I was told) after Computer Science(CSE). I was strongly against taking CSE as I just could not picture myself spending most of my productive years in front of a computer screen. The prospect of ECE was quite scary too. I had this block in my head about transistors (because I never understood them in 12th), and I figured ECE was built on transistors , hence my fear. But that is where I was wrong. In our first year of college, we have one subject each from all major branches and Basic Electronics was one of them. We had a brilliant teacher for the subject and he genuinely converted me. I was much more confident about going into the branch and although the third semester is quite challenging, it wasn't hopeless. As the semesters passed by, I got into the flow of things and even found an area I like, Embedded Systems. Our college requires us to make mini projects in atleast one subject each semester from the 3rd to the 6th semesters. I found my interest through one of these projects. Although the projects can be a pain if it's in an area you dislike, they are a means of figuring out what you're good at and what you should steer clear of! Coming to the extra curriculars and campus life. MIT has a host of different clubs that make racecars, launch satellites and even teach underprivileged children. If you feel like engineering is not your cup of tea (which is quite frankly true for half of all engineering students), there's a student business incubator on campus that lets you explore you're entrepreneurial side. The college takes student journalism very seriously too. I know of people who've gotten journalism scholarships to prestigious American Universities for their work in the college media bodies. Talking about placements. Majority of the Computer Science students get placed, and placed well. Most of the ECE students get placed too, but unfortunately, most of the recruiters are IT companies. Only a small fraction get placed in core ECE companies. So if you are someone like me who does not want to end up doing an IT job, you will have no slack time in ECE. Take up projects on your own or work under a professor or one of the aforementioned clubs. Keep track of advancements in your field of interest, and you should do just fine.

There's just something magical about this place, students say. Tucked away, far from the hustle bustle of the city, it has created an amazing environment of its own. A student who recently graduated from the college tells us, “You will meet the craziest bunch of people here, learn so many things about yourself that you probably wouldn't have, had you chosen to study within the comforts of your city.” Keep this in mind when you make your choice between Manipal and any other college.

There's something magical in this place, which will make you fall in love with it. As far as academics is considered, it finally comes down to YOU! It's your choice whether to take advantage of your independence, drink and enjoy life out of limits and eventually flunk in the exams or work hard and pass with flying colours. Let me tell you, there are a hell lot of hard-workers here, who really want to learn engineering, score well and shape their careers. You'll also find the 'party-type' people who enjoy all the time but still study hard during exams and score decently.

Had the best time here! It's a place you will fall in love with after just a bit of adjustment. Being a North Indian, I thought I will end up hating the place and the people, but now I feel that south Indians are probably the nicest people in the world. It's a place where you can get distracted very easily because you get a lot of freedom, so it's up to you how you use it. Enjoying in moderation and studying at the right time can get you a great GPA, awesome life and a good placement

In my opinion Manipal is overall a good college with no so good faculty. The students here are of multiple cultural background which allows us to have a exposure. Lot's of clubs, student projects etc. allows one to involve in different co-curricular activities and develope themselves in a good way and get a better exposure of how an industry work and how things work invthe better ways As we learn time management in the college so it is a very good thing in the college to learn as its a new beginner and early start that will help in the future upcoming startups

Awesome awesome and awesome...

The college life is great. We make friends and they are for lifelong. We get to know and mix with each other. We actually develop a bond that is unforgettable and very strong. Coming to the infrastructure of the college, painted .well some of the blocks are in very good condition and newly painted while others painted. The hostels are connected with different roads and one tunnel type structure called the 'temple run' which is very helpful in reducing time .The hostel rooms are one of the best i have seen that are in very good condition and quite spacious too. Now talking about the faculties that are are very renowned and have a great knowledge at least some of them do have. About the college placements about which i dont know much but seeing the past records it is fine . Meaning exposure is good that is all the established companies atleast come to here . Summing it up all i can say college life that also in mit is such life with much enjoyments

The infrastructure is nice, well ventilated and well equipped with latest instruments with well educated n efficient faculty. Placements should be much more better. We have a good campus with all faciliteis. One of the best places to pursue your engineering degree. One of the best engineering college in the country. The college location is very good and the weather is always pleasant during the odd semester, thanks to the beach nearby. Students have all the facilities and extra curriculum activities is also entertained a student can go with there interests. We have fest organised in each semester students are entertained to participate and be a part of it. MIT Manipal is ranked among the top 10 private engineering colleges in India and also ranked in top 50 engineering colleges in India.People from all parts of the country, actually even the world, come to study in Manipal. So the diversity is great. Campus life is great. There are many festivals and events organized by each college, Techtatva (tech fest held in September), Revels (intra-college) and Utsav (inter-college) being the most popular ones in MIT. Interact with your peers and go beyond your college. MIT is good, but MU is even better. Talk to all the different students from different colleges around you. Manipal Institute of Technology provides a vast variety of choices when it comes to choosing a career in different fields of Engineering. The courses offered by the Institute are exhaustive in the list and even include choices like Computer and Communication, Mechatronics, Print and Media Technology etc. All these courses are based on the latest syllabus followed all across India and they are also kept up to date by reviewing them from time to time. The teaching process followed is highly effective as all that is being taught is linked with practical examples so as to build the imagination of the students and to help them in learning things practically.

The best available infrastructure in the country with a wonderful student crowd, the exposure you get here will not be available elsewhere in the country ,placements are very good for computer science and average for other branches. As the college is celebrating its diamond jubliee we see a lot of buzz being created and it will best suit in building a brand and reputation for the college. A brilliant setup in northern part of Karnataka, MIT has been excellent in terms of track record. A very comfortable circulum, good faculty and dedicated departments offer students all the needed support to reach their goals. A small town, known for the university, has too been supportive. But how? Because this town has everything, in terms of eateries, courier facilities etc. Overall a good place to pursue engineering.

MIT : "ONE PLACE WITH A PLETHORA OF OPPORTUNITIES"

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
MIT Manipal should definitely be on the list of someone who desires to pursue engineering as an undergraduate course. Not only does it have a great alumni network across the globe, but also world class infrastructure and a myriad of opportunities for the all-round development of students. The course structure of each branch is well designed and aims to impart knowledge sufficient to face the employment challenges in the real world. The college has good placements statistics.Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics departments have decent and experienced faculty but the branches such as Computer Science, Information Technology and Computers and Communication require better teaching staff. This might be a catch but a little self-study can help fix this problem. All the professors in the college are quite amiable and are always available for any clarifications required by the students. There are technical student organisations that conduct events and promote activities related to the curriculum and beyond. There are also student projects such as Formula Manipal( design racing cars),Parikshit(satellite project) and many more. Besides these, workshops and competitions headed by people from industries such as Microsoft, Amazon etc often take place in the college. The cultural development goes hand-in-hand with the academic growth in the college as the literary, music and dance and the dramatics club offer platforms for students to showcase their talent. The staff of the college put their best foot forward to make the learning experience at MIT wonderful. It is upon the student to persevere and make the best use of the multitude of facilities that this college has to offer.

People from all parts of the country, actually even the world, come to study in Manipal. So the diversity is great. You will find all kinds of people ranging from cool people from Delhi to very sincere, bookworms of the South. And of course, there are the rich, spoilt brats from the middle east. The girl:boy ratio is approximately 40:60 (Boys are you reading??) Campus life is great. There couldn't be one pass out from Manipal who wouldn't want to go back! There are so many beaches nearby which everyone should make a point to visit. Ragging scene really isn't there, it's banned by college. There is almost zero ragging on and off campus. The seniors are least bothered about the juniors. But sometimes, friendly ragging does take place, which is nothing to be worried about and there is no need to call the anti-ragging squad for that

There is always an atmosphere for fun and party around Manipal, which I personally preferred as it helped me go through the tough times of the college. The faculty is okay-ish, and the curriculum is alright. If you are really interested in your field of study, you will find many opportunities to improve your skills and gain hands on work experience. College who has alumni like SATYA NADELLA CEO, Microsoft need not require any review , but still i am writing for others benefit- Air-conditioned lecture halls fitted with good audiovisual aids give the right ambiance for the teacher and the taught. A state-of the art Gym, with a dedicated coach helps students to stay fit. Large AC halls for students’ activity with TV facility are available. Open courtyards with seating arrangements are also provided. To inculcate sportsmanship, very high quality of sports facilities catering to most of the sports like Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton etc., are provided The labs in MCOPS are spacious and well equipped. Expensive instruments such as LCMS-MS, flow cytometer, auto analyzer, zetasizer, to name a few, are some of the priced possessions of our institution. Apart from these, the students have unlimited access to campus facilities such as redoubtable Health Sciences Library, IT services, sports and the newly built indoor complex MARENA, and Kasturba Hospital. A lot of Industries ti-up, workshop ,event like APTICON , international conference, guest lecture by noble laureate etc are excellent step towards enhancement to corporate exposure. MANIPAL UNIVERSITY is not only academia based institution but also focus is on sports, events, fests, international exposure and overall development. Good thing is that they force us to prepare research papers which allow us to learn new, they encourage us to conduct primary research and get it published, plus it is also mandatory to intern during summer holidays so it is the student's responsibility to learn by himself/herself to apply what is being taught. World class Hostels ,Twin sharing AC rooms are available. Hostel rooms are furnished with wooden beds, mattresses, wooden wardrobes, tables, chairs, AC, bucket, mug, dustbin, curtain, lights etc. In-house security and house-keeping teams working 24*7. Food is professionally managed and catered while maintaining high standards of quality & hygiene. Medical facility with qualified resident doctor & nursing staff along with 24*7 Ambulance service is available within campus. All faculties are well educated from IITs, and other reputed college and specialized in their respective department and they are so cooperative . Scholarship facility is also their . One who have money and want to learn something different or want to become specialized in his/her field , then they are welcomed .

It's an old institution and some part of the college shows you that. But Some part of it is brand new. Ac classrooms, labs, library. Food is brilliant in and out of campus. All sorts of amenities available in 5m radius. Major technical and non technical clubs so that you don't have a mundane college life and something to keep you busy throughout.

MIT, in fact Manipal as a whole, is that one perfect little place that you want to call your second home right after leaving your parents' home. It's just enough of everything- responsibilities and fun. MIT campus is huge and ever expanding. So much so that some boys hostels are barely hanging on the edge of the hill on which the town is situated :P We girls had it easier with the 'famous' 13th block and even newer blocks being relatively close to the academic buildings. Speaking of academic buildings, or "blocks", Academic Block 1 (AB1) is older than time itself! But the labs situated there and the newly built AB5 are state of the art. Student life is abundantly busy if you join a couple of cultural/technical clubs and find ways to keep yourself engaged. Otherwise, there are a zillion places around to just chill or eat out after classes, almost all at a walking distance from the campus (potato lovers at Snack Shack are a must have for foodies). Just don't forget to carry an umbrella. Ever. It rains heavily and without prior warnings most of the times.I would say Manipal offers you a lot more than subject matter knowledge, grab it with both hands!

The infrastructure is a total 5 pointer out of 5. The student crowd here is very very friendly and would make you feel just like home. The faculty is well-learned. All the amenities and facilities make it a place to be looked upon. Overall, it is an amazing college.
