Quite frankly, the best in chennai.

The SSN by itself is enough to split open other college students' jaws in awe. It a college where a studentcan develop himself in all aspects of life. Be it physical, intellectual or even technological, you name it, SSN has it. College life is always something many people wouldn't forget too easily. A college life at SSN is a step above that. A beautiful college environment, an amazing and easily approachable faculty, full campus wifi connection, intranet facilities, world class library and one of the three ICC class cricket grounds in chennai.

The perfect college with Awesome infrastructure. Students will get good Placements with both Avg. and Awesome packages. Student diversity would be good if Lateral Entry pupil also gets along the regular batch. You will have IT, Analytics and Core companies for placements. For people who love sports, it's a perfect destination for you to land on.

First of all, It is a lovely place to study. The process of getting into it is completely based on merit and therefore all the students will be meritorious. The college is regarded highly by CBSE students as it's the only college which gives an additional five marks on their cut off in groups I.e. Maths, physics, and chemistry. Thus, they need not compete with state board students who usually have a better cutoff. The college has the very good infrastructure. There is a lot of greenery on the campus. A clock tower has been newly constructed with lawns and gardens where students can sit and relax with their friends. It is a wanted shooting attraction which can be seen in many South Indian movies. The hostel rooms are quite good. The food in the hostel mess is just on par. But it cannot be compared to a hotel. The college also has very good sports facilities too. There are grounds for all sports but coaching is lacking in few sports. The college has very talented teaching fraternity. But they are constrained to teach as per curriculum suggested by Anna university. Therefore, professors are not to be blamed. The college provides a healthy environment for the growth of mental, strategical, leadership, academical, personal qualities. The college has various clubs like English literary club, IEEE, Entrepreneurship clubs like Lakhshya, NSS, YRC, dance club, music club, photographic club. The college allows students to organize signature events like symposiums, cultural all by themselves. The college is known for instincts, the cultures of the college which are witnessed by a range of celebrities from South India. The college is also known for trademark symposiums like Eupraxia, Paradigm, Crankx, shrishti, orbitce. The college also has a registered research center. The college also gives funds for the majority of projects proposed by students from prefinal and final years. The college gives best placement opportunities for students with computer science background. In the last two years, there have been core companies coming to the college to recruit students from Electrical, mechanical backgrounds too. The best thing about the college is the freedom given to students. The students can utilize it to go in either the right way or the wrong way. Thus, once a student gets into the college it is up to him to come out with flying colours. Would this course fetch a good job? It really depends on how well the student develops himself academically, personally and mentally with opportunities provided to him in the four years of graduation. What would you say about your faculty? The faculty is really good. There are many professors with Ph.D. They are capable of teaching really well but are constrained by the rules of Anna university as the college is affiliated to it. How good are the facilities on your campus? The facilities are very good. The hostels are really good. They are clean, spacious and with enough greenery. The hostel mess is just bearable but college has enough canteens. The labs are well equipped and have latest high-end technology too. The college also has good sports facilities. The college has an international level cricket stadium, football ground, and basketball, volleyball, badminton grounds. It has a sports complex with indoor badminton, basketball courts and gymnasium for both men and women. The college also has good transport facility for day scholars and for boarders on weekends and before vacations. How are the students like? The students are really friendly and supportive. The rapport between the students is really healthy. But there are occasional quarrels between students between of different years and departments. It's a good place to get new friends. How are the extracurriculars in your College? Excellent!!! The college always supports students to take part and organize events. They provide professional support to all the students.

For getting into SSN college of engineering , They only consider our 12th marks right ? Or also they will consider our 10th marks ?

Harshita Gupta 15th Dec, 2019

Hey,

For admissions in SSN College of engineering, the eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have completed 10+2 from a recognised board with minimum relevant score. There is nothing mentioned about the 10th score. So, admission will be based on the 12th score only. It's just that you must have passed your 10th examination as well.

For admissions, the merit score will matter. You don't have to give any entrance exam.

Hope this helps!

Hello ! I am studying my 12th std. And I want to get into SSN college of engineering ! whats the criteria I need to pass to get into SSN ? like whats the minimum Cut off for getting into SSN ?

Karvannan sevugamurthi 15th Dec, 2019

Hi aspirant,

You should  have studied Physics, chemistry, maths in your 12th standard and passed with minimum 50% of marks. But meritorious students can only get into SSN Engineering college, Chennai. 65% seats are filled by state counselling and 35% of seats are filled by management. If you are a General category student, you will need cutoff marks above 195 to get a seat. At the same time if you are SC/ST candidate, above 150 marks is enough. Sports person and state topper reservations and scholarships also available.

All the best.

Which college is better in case of placements? Ceg or ssn or psg?

Alok Dixit 23rd Jul, 2019

Hello Aspirant, It is difficult to predict the college among these one. All these colleges are almost same. But CEG - College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai is better than the all the three colleges. If I am going to rate it then I will rate it 4.7/5 and to other colleges it is about 4.5/5.

I hope this will help you.
