Manipal is one of the best private engineering college in India. What sets it apart from every other college of the student culture over here. The academics are good, faculty varying from average to great, placements are just fine, infrastructure is top notch, crowd is good and mostly belonging to good families.. Location wise, perfect.. A college with multiple faces.. I would strongly recommend it to anyone..

MIT has numerous tie-ups with many MNCs and other leading companies, many of which come to the campus on an annual basis. Manipal, being a student city, has a great college crowd. Also, my friends and the hostel life makes it more enjoyable. Hostels in the campus range from non-AC to AC, also from common bath to sharing baths and some hostels have deluxe rooms too, hostels for seniors have deluxe rooms with AC too. Many hostels have centrally installed geysers too. I am a sophomore, but I know that college placements at MIT are pretty good. This year Microsoft recruited more than 15 students from Computers Science and IT department with packages of 25 Lacs and 18 Lacs per annum. Other courses also have good placements. Companies like CISCO, GE, Deloitte, Polaris, Siemens, L&T Construction, Mahindra and much more came for recruitments in the past year of 2015, and their packages were pretty decent. I expected good technical and computer skills in my college's CSE department professors, but they aren't that good. Core stream students study and research on their own and get like really good placements(you don't need to be dependent on your teachers) The college crowd is really good. The college fees is affordable to many, but at the same time a hard thing for some who cannot. First-year fee at MIT, as of now, is Rs. 2,70,000 whereas the same for the senior years ranges from 2.6-3.2 lacs depending upon the course.

The best thing about my college is its industry orientation. The academic curriculum is very much relevant and well delivered to the students. Learning is not restricted only to the academics, one can learn sports and other passions as well. In short, it is good for overall development of student's personality.

well, if you do not get into an IIT, this college is not a bad option at all. Lush green campus, excellent faculty, excellent infra with superb hostel. Picturesque location adds up to the beauty of the campus. It takes its own entrance exams and cracking that is not a difficult task, if you are good at studies.
