HEY THERE!!

  • Based on your MET score of 133 out of 240, securing a seat in the CSE (AI & ML) program at MIT Manipal is highly unlikely. Historically, the closing rank for this specialization typically falls within the 900–2400 range, and your current score is not competitive enough to meet that standard.
  • Your 92% in CBSE 12th does fulfill the basic eligibility, but it does not influence the merit list, which is strictly determined by the MET score. Unless there’s a significant drop in cutoffs which is extremely rare you will need to consider alternative branches or institutions.
  • While this may be disappointing, it’s important to explore other options where your profile might be a better fit. .

With a score of 44.6% , your rank is likely to be higher than the closing ranks for CSE branches at MIT Bengaluru.

  • Explore other campuses of MIT, such as Manipal or Jaipur, where the cutoff ranks might be more accommodating.

  • Look into other engineering specializations with potentially lower cutoff ranks.

  • Research other private universities offering engineering programs with different admission criteria.

Hello,

The application deadline for MIT Manipal's B.Tech program has passed, and no further applications are being accepted for the 2025 intake. The last date for Phase 2 registration was April 22, 2025, with a late fee option available until April 25, 2025 .

Options to consider :-

  1. Wait for Next Year : You can apply for the 2026 intake once the application forms are released, typically in October 2025.

  2. Explore Other Institutions : Consider applying to other universities that offer similar programs and have upcoming application deadlines.

  3. Consider Lateral Entry : If you have completed a diploma in engineering, some institutions offer lateral entry into the second year of the B.Tech program.

  4. Check for Spot Admissions : Occasionally, universities may have spot admissions if seats remain vacant. It's advisable to contact the admissions office directly to inquire about this possibility.

Hope it helps !

For a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), MIT Manipal is generally considered a stronger choice than MIT Bangalore, especially from a placement perspective. While MIT Bangalore's location in Bangalore, a major tech hub, offers some advantages for internships and networking, MIT Manipal's established reputation and more extensive alumni network lead to better placement opportunities and a wider range of recruiters.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

MIT Manipal:

Established Reputation:

MIT Manipal is an older and more established campus with a stronger brand recognition and alumni network.

Better Placements:

MIT Manipal boasts a higher placement rate (around 90%) and offers better average and highest salary packages for CSE students compared to MIT Bangalore.

Stronger Infrastructure:

MIT Manipal generally has better infrastructure, labs, and research facilities compared to the newer MIT Bangalore campus.

Wider Recruiters:

MIT Manipal attracts a broader range of recruiters, including both core IT companies and those specializing in other fields.

MIT Bangalore:

Location Advantage:

MIT Bangalore's location in Bangalore, the "Silicon Valley of India", provides access to numerous tech companies and startup opportunities.

Emerging Campus:

While the campus is newer, it's still developing its infrastructure and alumni network.

Focus on Emerging Technologies:

MIT Bangalore may focus more on emerging technologies like AI and Machine Learning, potentially attracting companies specializing in these areas.

In conclusion:

For a strong placement profile and a broader range of opportunities, MIT Manipal is generally a better choice for CSE. If you are specifically interested in the Bangalore tech scene and are comfortable with a newer campus, MIT Bangalore could be an option, but it's important to weigh the potential benefits against the established reputation and placement advantages of MIT Manipal.

Hope this will help you in making decision which college is right for you!!

All the best

Hi aspirant,

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) does not provide management quotas or reserved seats for direct admission.  Admissions are completely merit-based, with the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) serving as the primary screening tool. While some colleges may use third-party admissions services, MIT Manipal neither authorizes nor condones such methods.

All the best!

Hope this message finds you well,

Thank you.

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Manipal, Karnataka, is a well-respected place for engineering studies in India. It's been around since 1957, making it one of the older private engineering colleges in the country. Over the years, it has built a strong name for its good teaching and the opportunities it gives to students.

Think of the campus as a lively hub spread over a good bit of land. It's got all the buildings you'd expect for different engineering departments, plus places for students to live comfortably. They've got modern labs where you can get hands-on experience, libraries stocked with books and online resources, and even sports facilities to help you unwind. You'll find everything from basketball courts to grounds for cricket and football.

MIT offers a wide range of courses, mostly focused on engineering. You can study things like computer science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and many other specialized fields. They have bachelor's degrees (B.Tech) which are usually four-year programs, as well as master's degrees (M.Tech) for those who want to study further. They even have a computer application course (MCA). The teaching style aims to give you a solid understanding of the theories but also the practical skills you'll need when you start working.

Getting into MIT usually involves taking their own entrance test called MET (Manipal Entrance Test). They also consider scores from other national-level exams for some programs. Because it's a popular choice, the competition to get in can be quite high.

When you're studying at MIT, you'll find a lot happening outside of classes too. There are various student clubs and events, technical festivals, and cultural programs that keep the campus buzzing. They also focus on helping students get good jobs after they graduate, with a placement cell that connects students with companies.

In short, MIT Manipal is a well-established engineering college known for its good academics, decent facilities, and a vibrant student life. It's a place where you can learn a lot and prepare for a career in technology.

Both Shiv Nadar University (SNU) and MIT Manipal are excellent for Computer Science (CS), but they cater to different preferences. SNU Noida offers a strong research focus, modern facilities, and an interdisciplinary approach. It’s better if you aim for innovation and projects. MIT Manipal is well-established with strong industry connections, experienced faculty, and better placement opportunities in core CS fields. If you value legacy and placements, choose MIT. For research and innovation, SNU is preferable. Your priorities decide the fit.

College Infrastructure

I’m currently pursuing Information Technology at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), and my experience so far has been decent, though not without its challenges. The infrastructure here is solid—labs, classrooms, and the library are well-maintained, and the Wi-Fi is reliable most of the time. There’s scope for improvement in some of the lab equipment, but overall, it’s above average.

........

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is impressive, offering a blend of modern facilities and well-maintained amenities. Spacious classrooms equipped with smart boards and high-speed internet create an environment conducive to learning. However, some areas could benefit from better upkeep, especially outdoor seating and parking spaces.

Great infrastructure, academics, and placement support.

College Infrastructure

The campus is clean and green, with good Wi-Fi, sports areas, and comfortable hostels. It provides everything students need to study and live well.It could use a little work for getting Ac in workshops.
