Hello,
National institute of engineering mysore is a decent college with NIRF ranking of 175. Their fees for the Information science engineering is Rs 96090. Their placement is also good since they have 62 companies which came for placement and 699 students were offered jobs. The average salary offered was Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum. And few top recruiters were Bosch, Bestol, L&T Technologies, Bharat electronics, Accenture, etc. Specifically for Information science engineering their placement was 92% in 2019.
JSS Science and technology university, Mysore is also a decent college and they also have a great placement. Their fees is less as compared to NIE mysore and they have higher placement than NIE. Their median salary offered is Rs 6.5 lakhs per annum.
So if you are ready to take risk of even not getting into ISE through upgradation and ready t stay with ECE then you should go on with SJCE. But if you want to pursue ISE under no circumstances then you can opt for NIE.

The Aeronautical engineering course at DSCE is too good and also is known for the same. So the rest branches at DSCE are equally same i mean they are also good as it has many experienced lecturers but i would suggest you to cross verify again. At NIE Mysore if you are wanting to join ISE then that would not really help you instead you can go for CSE at NIE Mysore.
I hope this answer was helpful.
Hello Student,
Hellos student, two of them are good. But out of two, NIE Mysuru is the better one.
ISE and IT are more or less the same. So between these two colleges, NIE is the better one. Having a rank of 22 among all engineering colleges in the country, it does have a higher quality with regards to multiple factors.
Here are the other factors to consider this college:
Infrastructure and college life:
NIE has a good infrastructure with well equipped labs and classrooms. Hostels are pretty decent and nice environment is always maintained. You can see that the campus life is going to be really well. College life is good with the right kind of atmosphere given to the students who come from different places.
Fa culty and quality of education:
All the faculties are qualified and experienced over here. And education, curriculum is made in such a way that students are made to acquire more hands on knowledge than just the theory. It is not just the books and classes. Focuses more on practical knowledge than the theoretical one. Education quality and the way guidance is given is really good.
Placements:
Placements are good as good companies visit this college. students gets placed and opportunities of internship is provided to the students from companies.
According to our website, It is a very good rated one.

Hi Himanshu,
You have mentioned your rank to be arpund 6k.
The National Institute of Engineering is an engineering institute located in Mysore Karnataka. The institute was established in the year 1946 by Sri S.Ramaswamy. Various courses offered by the institute include BE, M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA and PhD. The institute is accredited by NBA and NAAC. NIE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and has been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
As of 2019, the closing rank was 12k for B.E. in Information Science and Engineering.
AS of 2018 and 2017, closing rank was around 8k and 5k.
So even if closing rank goes up higher this year, I think you should be able to clear it.
