College Infrastructure
Facilities and infrastructure is quite good. Everything is available in compact space. Wi-Fi is available in the campus. One need to register for the same and one cannot access the same with mobile phone. Library has restriction and one can access it from 9am to 8pm on weekdays. Sunday is closed. Library is closed on national holidays The condition of classroom is average. There is a canteen in the clg campus. Facilities are praiseworthy in the hostels but the food is not up to mark.
Academics
Most of the teachers here are experienced and very knowledgeable. Majority of them have PhDs from IITs. There are also senior lecturers who guide students in every aspect of the course and also clear their doubts. The course curriculum is updated in every three years. The way they teach is very good.
Placements
NIE has very good campus placement. Around 90% of CSE & ISE Students got placed. The highest package offered was 29.5 Lacs per Annum by Cisco. Almost every student got internship in good companies. Famous company like Cisco, HP, Infosys, Mercedes, TCS, Wipro visit campus. For our branch the highest salary package offered was 9 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered was 3.9 LPA. Bosch was the top recruiting company for our course.
Campus Life
Our college organises a fest named Technicks which was celebrated for a week. The was a huge crowd on the campus. Many activities were conducted. We can have very good entertainment. There's an IoT lab too with the latest stuff and teachers with sound knowledge to help you. Faculty members in our course are well experienced and helpful. There is a branch fest. There is a sports complex too.

College Infrastructure
i think the college infrastructure is nice but the building is too old because it is there since 1947. classrooms are bit old in GJB but its good in NRN block . hostel is good for girls but bit congested for boys .
Academics
Academics is excellent, teaching quality is good , curriculum is meant for future upcoming engineers according to present requirements in companies . I think one should choose NIE for better future in life
Placements
In NIE placement is good for all branches especially the placements are good for mechanical if we compare the placement of other colleges.therefore we can choose mechanical or other core branches for better placement.

NIE is one of the top most colleges in Mysore. It has a decent campus and a great reputation in the city. The National Institute of Engineering has a highly active and growing community of over thousands of alumni, living in over 50 countries. The very famous N. R. Narayana Murthy is from NIE. The placements here are excellent. We have very experienced and student friendly teachers. The students get practical exposure to various fields of study. Teaching here is very professional and they provide hands on training to the students. There is a beautiful indoor stadium here. It is very popular in the city. The college life here will be a very memorable experience. I must say the four years in this college will be an unforgettable experience as one can acquire maximum knowledge and enjoy their life with their friends. So the learning experience will be wonderful.

The campus is good and so are the placements (if your aggregate is good). Professors are experienced while some of them are not. Labs are well equipped and infrastructure is good. It is an autonomous college. Hostels are also well furnished and comfortable enough to live. Placements are really good, especially for CS student in this IT generation.Very few students land in core companies, but the ones who get core jobs have good pay as well.We have a good library.Only the E&C engineering building is a modern building with good infrastructure. It is one of the best college in Karnataka.

NIE is a nice place to spend four years of your life. Faculty, language .labs, sports and other activities are all good. A very chilled yet vibrant environment. A mix of both. A lot of people from Sadvidya and Marimallappa college will be there. So many familiar faces and old friends. People from other states also study there. Hence it's quite the melting pot language. The entrepreneurial culture was catching up while I was in my third year. There have been exceptions, whole things were up to speed in my final year and afterwards. So now it's a very good institute, the latest development being state of the art facility built, for electrical department, courtesy of Shri Narayana Murthy. So placements are bound to increase more. We had good lecturers for almost 70-80% of the subjects and rest junior lecturers. It became autonomous in 2008. I stayed at the hostel which was right behind the college and transportation was a no problem due to this. The college is India's 2nd oldest and was built in 1946. Overall this college I can say is one of the best in India and it's worth spending four years of your teen to adult transition period there..

NIE is said to be one of the best engineering college in Mysore. But to be true its not that good as people say. The faculties here are not upto our expectations. The placements here are just ok as all the students are not placed. But for extracurricular activities this is the best college. It brings out our talents and we get an opportunity to expose ourself. Overall its a good college but should be done better with respect to placements and faculties.

The overall experience of the college has been good but not as expected. The first thing that comes in the mibd when we think about college is the campus, this college has a average campus, not a great playground. Placement department is good. The lectures are also experienced and skilled. The hostel life is the best even though the hostel infrastructure is not that good.

The infrastructure in the college is good. The college hostel is little old but internet facility in hostel is good. I expected more placement but it was not up to my expectation. The college should take care of placement policy which bad that is one job policy which affects most of the students who cant have more than one job in there hand.

The college provides laboratories with latest technology equipment for thorough understanding by the student. It has a magnificent indoor stadium for sports and cultural events. It continuously conducts seminars and expert talks by established professionals from various fields. Also many industrial visits are arranged for enhanced industry exposure. Apart from academics, a student can also display his/her extra-curricular talents during the college fest - TECHNIEKS, comprising of a wide variety of events which are extremely enjoyable. A student can also participate in different sports activities being conducted throughout the year. A student excelling in a particular sport also gets the opportunity to represent the college at state and national levels. The college is visited by many esteemed companies for placement offers. I received an offer from Tata Consultancy Services. Also, mock placements and placement training by professional trainers are conducted during pre-final years to prepare the student. This training includes aptitude and soft-skills, both of which are highly helpful. For students coming from outside the city, the college provides adequate hostel facilities. A recent building 'YUVIKA' was established inside the college campus for girls. The college has well qualified teachers in every department who are hardworking and strive to make every student industry-ready. The college crowd is encouraging and friendly. They acknowledge and support talented individuals during extra-curricular activities or sports matches. The college fees is quite minimal. A student can make the most of these precious years at an affordable rate. In other words, " A complete package ".

Being one of the oldest institutes in the nation NIE has maintained the art and architecture well by adopting and expanding its infrastructure to the modern day techniques. There are several industry visits for students and staff according to their branches and it happens every year. The co-curricular activities with the blend of fine academics made my journey more enjoyable.I have had the right platform to showcase my talent academically as well as culturally through students clubs dance, singing and various other shows. I was happy getting placed in Accenture Pvt Ltd.I was also part of Toyota Kirloskar motors interview for which the results are yet to be announced.Overall the college placements are really satisfying. Also, hostel facilities added to my satisfaction when there was a new infrastructure built for girls hostel within our college campus. It has the best architecture design I've known.I believe my whole departmental staffs were itself exceptional when it was about quality as well as quality education. To name a few I think G.Maadhu who would teach us mechanical related subjects in the 2nd and 3rd year was exceptional in the level of his teaching methods. Also, Dr.Y S Varadarajan sir who is my project guide who is known for his disciplines and ethics. The student crowd is exceptionally good as all are passionate about what they do.In a large scale, I've seen students being very enthusiastic about their particular field of study. The overall crowd here is well engaged and responsible enough. I think I would recommend this college to anyone who is desperately seeking to acquire good knowledge and also looking for his/her personality growth. The college is very affordable in terms of quality and financial terms.

Commonly known as NIE, it's an old college with a reputation to match. Placements, especially when it comes to CSE and ECE are phenomenal, though the college is famous for Mechanical. Like the title mentions, the campus is quite small, especially when compared to many other colleges, yet the little that's there, is quite practical and beautiful. Like everywhere else, the first year is a little dreary, but teaching has been reasonably good so far. NIE has many senior faculty who are with post-graduate and doctoral degrees from IITs and IISc., and all other staff have a vast professional and academic experience. Student organisations like IEEE, SAE, ISHRAE, IEEE Computer science club, and Aerotantrix are very active here, apart from a plethora of fests organised by the respective departments. The annual tech-fest at NIE, tekNIEqs is a gamut of activities. Being an autonomous college under VTU, the academic structure and tests and all decided by the college, though based loosely in the VTU pattern. Overall, it's one of the best, if not the best, engineering colleges in Karnataka.

The College is pretty much like any other generic engineering college. The fests and all aren't very huge. It has a small but green campus. Most professors have no in depth knowledge of their subjects. However there are exceptions. The student diversity isn't much and most students are passive. College is very affordable for CET students. The city of Mysore is very good. there's public transport and buses ply effectively around the city. Hostels are good. However internet connectivity in the campus isn't good. Placement statistics are good but then most of consist of mass recruiting companies. Being closer to Bangalore we get exposure to industry alonwith not having to suffer the pollution and traffic of Bangalore :P

You'll find a lot of narrow-minded people here. They do their best to not let girls get technical exposure which is a must need for today's engineers. North Indians are not treated equally. Especially girls. Internet facilities are just for the name sake. Any of the technical or non-technical societies are not supported. Information provided on the website are not all true. Hostel fee is incremented without any prior notice in the middle of the year.

Civil Engineering at NIE is the best compared to any other branches. It has highly experienced faculty where more than 90% of them have PHDs and M.tech from IITs. It has sophisticated laboratories. Out of 2 fire research centres in India, one of them is in IIT Roorkee and other is in NIE, Mysore. Students get a chance to go abroad to present research papers. Placements for civil engineering is not like that of CS but placements for civil too is improving these days due to change in placement officer.

College gives you lot of freedom to learn and experiment. It has a couple of highly qualified professors. The placements for computer science and Information science are amazing. Top notch companies like Walmart, Cisco, SAP labs, Grofers, Huawei, HP, Dell, Applied materials, National Instruments, Mercedes, Bosch had visited the campus for placements.

The National institute of engineering, popularly known as NIE was established in 1946. NIE is considered to be the second oldest college in Karnataka, India. Since it was granted autonomy in 2007, NIE is now an autonomous institution affiliated to VTU. As a proud student of NIE, I'm glad to say that my college stands 6th among the top 10 engineering colleges in our country. It was started in 1946 with diploma courses in civil engineering. Hence, it is known mainly for civil and mechanical courses. It houses administrative offices, libraries, a gymnasium, several centres of excellence and workshops. It has a sports complex which hosts around 1200 in number, which also houses courts for badminton, table tennis and other indoor sports. It also houses a well furnished and well-equipped boys and girls hostel. It has many committees which promote entrepreneurship, technical skills, cultural exposure like ONYX and IEEE. My college hosts a national cultural fest formally called tech NIEks, which gives a new platform for students to showcase their inbound talents. We're proud to exclaim that Narayana Murthy, the founder of one of the prominent IT-firm companies around the world, INFOSYS, is our proud alumni and administrators of our college. Generally, 90% of the students of our college get placed in companies that are well known all around the world. So as to conclude, we're proud to be a part of this institution which excels in every field combined.

At first, I thought that only faculties of MECH would be good because my college stands 2nd place in Karnataka for mech engineering but I was wrong . here faculties in all branch are highly qualified. Since its just 5 months of me getting into this college, I can't say more than this
