The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore was established in 1946. NIE, Mysore is a private university affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore's seven undergraduate programmes and three postgraduate programmes now have Tier-1 accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. National Institute of Engineering, Mysore offers courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.

For UG admissions candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks from a recognised board also valid score in COMEDK UGET, KCET conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority. NIE, Mysore PG admissions are offered to candidates who must hold a BE/B.Tech degree from a recognised board and also a valid score in GATE, Karnataka PGCET.

Admissions to Ph.D courses are offered to candidates who hold a Master’s degree from a recognised board. The NIRF 2024 report states that in 2023, the median salary for undergraduate students was Rs. 7,80,000 LPA, while the median salary for graduate students was Rs. 6,30,000 LPA. With the help of the placement drive in 2023, 788 undergraduate and 116 graduate students were placed. National Institute of Engineering, Mysore also offers various facilities to the students that includes well-stocked libraries, modern classrooms, sports facilities, medical facilities and many more.

NIE Mysore Scholarship

The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore provides scholarships to meritorious and needy students based on their performance in academics. For NIE Mysore scholarships, candidates have to fulfill the required eligibility criteria. Eligible students can also apply for scholarships at the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. Students are encouraged to apply for a variety of scholarships offered by the state and central governments. The eligible NIE Mysore students can also avail scholarships offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The NIE Mysore scholarships depend on various factors like the annual income of candidates’ parents, the category of the candidate and candidates’ financial condition. Some NIE scholarships include Merit Cum Minorities Scholarship, SC Goipm Scholarship, ST Goipm Scholarship, Defence Scholarship, GSB Scholarship and many other scholarships. Scholarship for NIE Mysore students- Scholarship Amount/Eligibility Criteria

Saksham Scholarship	Rs.30,000 or the actual tuition fees paid, whichever is less. Contingency allowance of Rs 2000 per month for a duration of 10 months.	Only for differently-abled students with more than 40% disability. Family income should be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. Students must be admitted to first-year diploma/undergraduate degree level programmes/courses in AICTE approved institutions.
Pragati Scholarship for Girls	Amount of scholarship that is a tuition fee of Rs. 30,000 or at actual, whichever is less and Rs. 2,000 per month for 10 months as incidentals each year.	This scholarship is for girl candidates who have taken admission to the diploma/degree course at AICTE approved institution/college. The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs.8 Lakhs. Up to two girls per family can apply for the scholarship.
Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities	Admission and Tuition Fee- Rs.7,000/- per annum For Technical courses- Rs.10,000/- per annum	Students of class 11 to higher education who scored at least 50% marks in the previous exam. A family's annual income should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs. Students from minority communities such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians/Parsis can apply.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses CS	Rs. 20,000/- per annum	Students should have got admission to technical/professional courses in a college, on the basis of a competitive examination. He or she must have received at least 50% marks in the previous exam. The family's income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 lakhs. Students should belong to Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) communities.
AICTE GATE Scholarship	Rs. 12,400/- per month per student.	Must have a valid GATE score at the time of admission. Admitted to AICTE-approved colleges and universities.
