A candidate seeking admission to a Diploma in Engineering should have passed the 10th or High School Examination or its equivalent of an approved Board with the second year marks obtained in +2. 

Lateral Entry

1. ITI with two years (who have passed the 10th level school leaving examination before admission to ITI courses) with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/another state.

2.10+2 vocational examination in various branches with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/another state.

3.10+2 science with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/Other state.

4. Two-year certificate course with a minimum of 60% marks from SLIET longwall and have A Punjab Domicile. In the event of vacancies being unfilled, candidates who have passed the ITI at least one year (who have passed the 10th level school leaving examination before admission to ITI courses) or 10+2 Board shall also be eligible to be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criterion :

Candidates who have passed the Matriculation exam (especially in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English) are eligible to seek admission to the polytechnic based on the inter-se-merit of the qualifying exam (Matric) and the reservation policy of the Government of Punjab through online counseling.

Lateral Entry : 

a) 12th Science with Vocational/Technical or 10th + (2 Year ITI)

b) Provided, however, if seats remain vacant, then the same will be filled based on merit as per the below-mentioned eligibility criteria :

1.  ITI at least one year(who has passed the 10th Level School leaving examination before admission to ITI courses) from any institution of Punjab/Other states.
2. 10 + 2 vocational examinations in various branches with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/Other State.
3. 10 + 2 with science from any institution of Punjab/Other State.
4. Two-year certificate course from SLIET Longowal, with a Punjab Domicile.
