Yes, you are eligible for DU B.Com admission. DU considers only your Class 12 marks and CUET score, not your Class 10 subject-wise results. Your Class 10 Maths fail (E grade) will not affect admission, since your overall result is pass. You just need to clear Class 12 with required subjects and meet the CUET + DU cut-off criteria. So, focus on Class 12 and CUET preparation.
You had your 12th Commerce practical exam on 14th September, which means the final written exams will be scheduled a little later. Usually, theory exams are held 1–2 months after the practicals. For Maharashtra Board (HSC), supplementary or special exams are conducted in October–November, while the main annual board exams are held in February–March. You should check with your school/college notice board and the official board website for the exact timetable of your final exams.
Many colleges offer a combination of Hindi and Commerce subjects, especially in BA or BCom programs. Students can study Hindi literature (poetry, novels, drama) alongside commerce subjects like accounting, business law, and economics. Electives may include political science, sociology, or e-commerce depending on the program. Teaching methods usually combine lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, projects, and online resources to enhance learning. Compulsory courses often include English and environmental studies.

If you have passed 12th in Commerce and are currently pursuing 2nd year in Arts, you may be eligible for some Railway Controller or related posts, but not all. Most Railway Controller or Traffic Apprentice jobs require at least a graduation (any stream). So, after completing your degree, you will be more strongly eligible.
For now, focus on completing your graduation, and keep an eye on RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) notifications they clearly mention the required qualifications
Hello,
For IAS preparation , the subject group in 11th is not very strict. The UPSC exam allows students from any stream – Science, Commerce, or Arts.
If your son is good in Science and History , you can choose based on his long-term interest:
Science group : Good if he also wants options like engineering, medicine, or research. Later, he can do graduation in Science, Engineering, or even shift to Humanities for IAS.
Humanities/Arts group : Best suited for IAS, as subjects like History, Political Science, Geography, and Economics are part of the UPSC syllabus.
Commerce group : Also possible, but not as directly helpful for IAS syllabus.
For degree, students from any stream can clear IAS. But most prefer BA in subjects like History, Political Science, Economics, or Geography , as they overlap with UPSC syllabus.
Hope it helps !
