Many of my close friends took a double drop and are studying Computer Science and Engineering in National Institutes of Technologies like NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra and so one, while some others had to go for private colleges like VIT even after taking a double drop.

So, you should take a double drop only and only if you are super sure that you will be able to put in the required efforts and will not slack off in the process. If you can promise yourself this only then go for it.

Now you can do that yourself by using open materials on Internet or you can take admission in an English medium school. See its not like that, if you are from the hindi medium school, you can can't go abroad. The thing is if you can't speak english or read english then how will you understand the lectures in the university you will be studying abroad.
