Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research MBBS Entrance Exam
Dear Ushosee
Only 74 seats (JIPMER Puducherry 55, JIPMER Karaikal 19) for UR candidates are reserved which means only 74 students will get admission in either of the colleges. And according to the notice of shortlisted UR students, the student ranking between 1-750 are eligible for 1st round of counselling which doesn't guarantees you a seat.
However, in 2018, the 3rd (eligible ranking between 657-756) and final round (eligible students with more than 50th percentile)of counselling was held for 6 and 3 vacant seats respectively.
Concluding the information and following the 2018's pattern(can be changed this year), there can be a chance for you and the clearance will be on after attending the 1st counselling.
Good luck for 1st round.

Jipmer is one of the most sort after MBBS college in India .At the rank of 11000 it is next to impossible for you to get any seat in this prestigious institution.
Most of time top 200 student are only able to get it but if you still wanna try you may go for counseling.
All the best

No, you cannot get a seat at JIPMER with this rank. The cut off of JIPMER 2019 for General/OCI/NRI category is 50th percentile, while that for SC/ST/OBC and General-PH aspirants, it is 40th and 45th percentile, respectively. The candidates are considered for admission to 150 seats available in JIPMER Puducherry and 50 seats available in JIPMER Karaikal.
Here's a link that will help you with the cut-off for both the centres of JIPMER:

Hello apsirant,
There are just 74 seats of mbbs that are alloted by JIPMER entrance exam from them 55 are from puducherry campus and 19 from karaikal campus so it seems difficult for you get seat in jimper. As per last year trend 1- 156 was the general opening - closing rank for puducherry campus and 190-978 was for karaikal campus. There are very less chances of getting the college
You may use the predictor for more probabilty: www.careers360.com/mbbs-companion?icn=mbbs-companion&ici=jipmer-sticky-wap
Best of luck!!
Dear Arkit
As per to JIPMER 2018 notice for 3rd counseling for UR, there were 100 students ranking between 657-756 and other 17 additional student who had registered (not absent) in the 2nd and 3rd counseling against only 6 vacant seats, were eligible and also in final counselling, the remaining students with more than 50th percentile were eligible against only 3 vacant seats irrespective of previous attendance.
But this year, there could be a different protocol and you have to wait for the notice after 1st and subsequent rounds. Only after that, you can surely know whether you would get call for further round or not.
Good luck.
Hello dear,
You can attend the counseling as you have qualified for it, but there literally no hope that you will get any college, as even the cut off of an open round of JIPMER Medical is around rank 800 for a general category student. And if you wish you can check by your self the cutoff I am attaching the link too.
