Hey Nitu
If you didn't find your name in the shortlisted list of OBC category then it means that you might be not eligible for the 1st counselling. However, you could check your name in the overall merit list or you can see/download rank letter/result which will be available from 11AM onwards of 12/06/2019 (Wednesday) by visiting the official website of JIPMER(www.jipmer.edu.in).
Hey Akash!
Baswd upon the previous year JIPMER cytoffs for both of its campuses , you seem to have no chances of getting a seat in pondicherry campys but a very few chances in karaikal campus. But you must keep a backup option with you because the chances are very less.
You can check the previous year JIPMER cutoffs for both the campuses , by following the given link :

Hello
The minimum marks required to score in JIPMER 2018 entrance exam, in order to qualify it, is the cut off. Cut off for JIPMER 2018 is 50 percentile for unreserved, OCI, NRI candidates. Cut off score is 45 percentile for unreserved OPH candidates. Then it is 40 percentile for SC, ST, OBC, and OPH belonging to SC, ST, OBC categories. Those who get marks less than this percentile will not be eligible for admission. JIPMER has not specified any cut off in terms of marks in exam. Actually, you should also know that in JIPMER, first raw score is calculated by finding out number of correct answers you marked and number of wrong answers you marked. Then that score is normalized. Then normalized score is used to determine percentile.
If you have got a rank around 260 you may be eligible for admission under p obc category according to previous year references however the situation may change this time. All the best.
Hi Kayathri,
I hope you are doing good. Coming to your question, shortlist contain the names of the students who got more than the cutoff and qualified in the exam. If someone name is not in shortlist then it means they are disqualified in Jimper and they can't attend counseling. There will be no shortlisted separately released for second counseling. The students who are shortlisted at the time of results are 10 times more than seats available in JIMPER colleges so only will be placed in counseling based on rank. There are in total 200 seats offered by Jimper but the number of students shortlisted are 2055 so only those 2055 students are eligible to attend counseling.
I hope you got the answer to your query.
Feel free to ask further queries.
Thank you.
