What is the most unique thing that jipmer have and the same which aiims or state govt colleges dont have?

Sunanda Dhar Student Expert 6th Aug, 2019

How do you judge a medical college? By their clinical exposure? By their infrastructure? By their teaching faculty? Or by their student performance in future as doctors?

In terms of clinical exposure, JIPMER has a huge diversity of cases. Name it, and you'll find it in the clinics sometime or the other. I'm sure AIIMS does too.

Infrastructure wise, we have a beautiful campus, with a top class hostel facility, super-speciality hospital, women and child health care hospital, OPD block, Emergency services and the General Hospital. I'm sure AIIMS does too.

The faculty are all experienced doctors who've been in this field for years. I am sure that is the case with AIIMS too.

And,lastly, about how JIPMERites and AIIMSonians perform in future,

Students in both colleges receive excellent education, clinical exposure and opportunities.

I would not compare the two.

True, AIIMS Delhi has a better location and is more widely known, because of its location as well as the fact that well known politicians are being treated there.

But in terms of education and quality of doctors, I see no reason to compare them.

Now if you compare it with state govt colleges then I must say jiper is better. Most of the state govt colleges lack proper clinics and labs thus lack in their practical skills as well

Feel free to ask me in the comment box if you are having any further doubts

hope you find it helpful

Good Luck!

On what basis the JIPMER open round counselling occurs like on first come first serve?

shruti jha Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2019

Hi,

No, the open round of jipmer counselling is not based on first come first get scenario.

It is organised properly as previous rounds based on new cutoffs and seat availability.

So, if you had high cutoff marks according to the jipmer open round cutoffs , then you can easily get a seat for mbbs/bds courses there.

Good luck.

What really all neet, aiims and jipmer exams are combined through neet in 2020?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 30th Jul, 2019
Dear Kamal, only yesterday the NMC bill has been passed. But id doesnt mention the future of NEET, AIIMS and JIPMER. One of the reforms of NMC Bill is to do away wih NEET PG, introduce NEXT. There is no mention of NEET, AIIMS and JIPMER. Technically AIIMS and JIPMER are autonomous Institutions and are not run by the Government. That is the reason they conduct their own entrance examinations. As of now, NMC Bill has to be passed in Rajya Sabha. Until the complete information has been released, we need to wait and watch how things unfold.

Is it good or bad for the aspirant if jipmer aiims and neet get combined??

NAVEEN MEENA Student Expert 29th Jul, 2019

Dear Khushi, these 3 entrance exams are the most reputed ones in our country. The unification of these 3 has its own pros and cons.

Pros-

  • There will be only one exam for the aspirants to prepare for.
  • The EWS section will surely be benefitted.
  • Aspirants can prepare for only single exam without giving a thought of which one to prioritize
  • Difficulty level will surely be less than AIIMS.

Cons-

  • One common exam means only one chance.
  • The one's who had more conceptual clarity did better in AIIMS. But now they will find hardship a little bit as this exam will depend more on practice and solving speed.
  • All the medical institutions whether the topmost college like AIIMS or any other private college will admit students on the basis of their score whatever they get. So, surely the level of competition will increase.

All the best

Hope this helps

Is jipmer and aiims are combining with neet

Suresh v 28th Nov, 2019
Hello kushi!

Ofcourse AIIMS and NEET are combining together.
Admission to MBBS courses in medical colleges across the country including JIPMER and all the AIIMS will be through the common national entrance test NEET from 2020.
Currently, admissions to all medical colleges except AIIMS and JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research) are done through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

"The common national entrance test -- NEET -- applicable to institutes of national importance like AIIMS and JIPMER and common counselling for MBBS, as per the National Medical Commission Act, will come into force from the next academic year (2020).

"This will help set common standards in medical education sector in the country," Vardhan said.

The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for common national entrance test - NEET - along with common counselling for MBBS, and a common final year MBBS exam which will be applicable to all institutes including those of national importance like AIIMS.

GOOD LUCK!
