If you want to admit your son to an army school, here is what you need to do -

1. Check the eligibility as the Army schools take admission of children of Army personnel, serving and retired Army personnel. Some schools have a limited number of seats for civilian children.
2. Then check whether the school has vacancies for civilian or non-army wards.
3. Check for the admission notification as they usually release admission notifications in February-March for the next academic session. Check the official school website for the information.
4. Fill in the admission forms and attach the copies of all the required documents like birth certificate, previous school marksheet, parent's army ID (if applicable) and passport-size photo.
5. For 9th standard Army schools usually conduct an entrance test based on 8th standard syllabus. Sometimes an interview is also conducted.
