Planck quantum theory
Hello Student,
Planck's Quantum Theory states that :
1) The radiant energy is always in discontinuous wave form. It is absorbed or emitted discontinuously in the form of small packets of energy called Quantum.
2) The energy of a quantum of radiation is directly proportional to the frequency of the radiation.
3) Energy is emitted or absorbed in simple integral multiples of quantum but not fractional values.
E= nhv ( n = 1,2,3,4..... )
E = hv = hc/L
E = Energy of Radiation
h = Planck's Constant = 6.625 * 10^(-34) Joule-sec
v = Frequency
c = Speed of light
L = Wavelength of light
