ApplyPanjab University (PU) is a collegiate university-funded jointly by the central and state government located in Chandigarh, India. Established in 1882 as the University of Punjab, Lahore it was relocated in India after the partition in 1947 between India and Pakistan. The university did not have a campus of its own for nearly a decade and at last, in 1956 it got its own campus on a red sandstone designed by Pierre Jeanerette under the guidance of Le Corbusier. The Panjab University has 15 chairs/centers for research and teaching and 78 research and teaching departments at the key campus in Chandigarh. It has affiliations with 189 colleges along with 4 regional centers and 6 constituent colleges. The university has its own radio station which plays the role of combining different groups amongst the university students, faculties and the community at large. According to NIRF rankings 2021, the university has been ranked 27th in the law category, 28th in the research category, 2nd in the pharmacy category 89th among engineering institutions, 23rd in the university category and 38th in the overall category. PU is in Chandigarh the capital city of Punjab, a green city in the state of Punjab. It is at a distance of 25 km from the Chandigarh International Airport which takes about 50 minutes driving on a routine day, and 10 km from the Chandigarh Bus Terminal or the railway station which comes to a 25-30 minute drive. PU Chandigarh location is well connected with many commutes like autos and taxis. The beautiful, landscaped Panjab University campus in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh is spread over an area of 550 acres. The key academic and administrative buildings are in sector 14, beside a health center, gymnasium, swimming pool, and residential housing for the faculties. An assemblage of notable buildings that comprises the Gandhi Bhawan, the Student Centre, the University Library, the Fine Arts Museum and add a feather to the cap of Panjab University.
The Panjab University facilities ensure that students are comfortable. PU facilities nurture students with an atmosphere of contentment and joy. The university has provisions for accommodation in the hostel segregated for boys and girls. The infrastructure provided by the University promotes the all in all growth of the students which leads to excellence in every area of the student. The halls that are meant for the purpose of seminars conducted to the students for various subjects and also the use of libraries for students and faculties are well-equipped with the latest innovations to facilitate a better learning experience at large. Sports facilities that are provided to the students including both indoor and outdoor sports promote the level of physical activity amongst students.
There are in total seventeen hostels of which 8 are for boys and the remaining 9 are for girls has a capacity to accommodate nearly about 6700 students. Panjab University in view of the working women at the campus has allotted one more hostel specially for these working women with a capacity to accommodate 70 working women in it.
Bhai Ghanaiya Ji (BGJ) Institute of Health is a giant unit that caters to the medical and medicinal needs of around approx 40,000 employees and their dependents, students of all the departments including all the boys and girls residing in hostels, persons on daily wages also the contractual employees and persons working in the mess and canteen area.
The educational colleges on the campus along with the four Regional Centers in the state itself are grouped under various Faculties like Science, Arts, Languages, Education, Law and Fine Arts, Commerce and Business Management, Engineering and Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Dairying, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Specialized libraries are provided and made available to most of the departments, and the period runs of working for at least 180 days in a year.
A. C. Joshi Library has over 6.4 lakh publications in a collection which include books, bound volumes of journals, a prized collection of 1490 manuscripts rare books, reports, backfiles of newspapers theses/dissertations, government documents, and. The Library is also fully computerized with an integrated system that is connected to the Campus Network which provides Internet and e-mail facility to the University community.

PU offers graduate and postgraduate level programmes. PU admission is done based on merits for some courses as well as the entrance exams via PU CET, PU MET and PU THAT for some other courses. The applicants who meet the cut off declared by PU are in entrance exams are called for personal interview/counselling and then are shortlisted on the grounding of merit.
For admission in PU UG and PG courses, it is mandatory for the student to secure 50% marks in 10+2 and 50% at graduation respectively.
Concerned colleges affiliated with PU will forward the student details after the remittance of fees from the student. Students who get enrolled in the Colleges that are affiliated to the Panjab University will make a contribution annually to the College Development Council that will be decided by the Syndicate appointed every year and Principals who collect the amount must remit the collected amount on account of the CDC Fee to the Dean, CDC, Panjab University.

Scholarships are provided by Panjab University to the students who need financial help. The criteria for eligibility to get the scholarship varies from one course to another course. They consider the students with disabilities, scholarship schemes as per Government of India, Scholarship for SC/ST candidate, Central sector scholarship, Post Matric Scholarship.
Note: Aadhar number is compulsorily required to avail funds for all Government subsidies and Scholarships.
The PU cutoff is set at the minimum marks/score that an applicant must attain on the PU CET to proceed with the admission process. Cut off percentile for the same course is higher for students from the general category and lower for students from the SC/ST/OBC category. In general, the cut off marks vary for every different course offered by the University.

College has beautiful infrastructure and solid building and has all equipments that are necessary. laboratories are fully air conditioned and sport center, has tennis and football ground hockey ground . The campus is full wifi-ed. Everything is well used and wll maintained. The whole campus is tidy. So many tress in the campus area. The living space is clean too

Once the fee details are released you can check them on the official website of Punjab University. If the fee details are not released on the official website then you will need to go to the university in offline mode for collecting the fees details.
