About PU CET 2020
Panjab University conducts the Panjab University Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (PUCET) in offline mode for admission to BSc. (Hons.) and B.Pharma programmes at the university and 188 participating colleges. However, for 2020, there will be no entrance test for UG courses and admission will be offered based on the marks in the qualifying exam. The merit list for Panjab University admissions has been released on September 1. Candidates can opt for subject combinations of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and Mathematics. Along with the combinations of PCB or PCM, candidates have the option of taking an additional subject Biology/Mathematics. The examination has Multiple Choice Questions and candidates are given 70 minutes.

Candidates passed/appeared in 10+2 examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council can also apply for PU CET (U.G.) Entrance Test.
I.N.M.O. (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad) Awardees can directly join B.Sc. (Hons.) programme at the Department of Mathematics. Such candidates need not take PU CET entrance exam.

PU CET Application Form 2020
The application form of PU CET UG is released for admissions in UG courses offered by the university. There is a single, common application form of PU CET 2020 for BSc. (Hons.) and B.Pharma. Eligible candidates can fill PU CET application form 2020 by following the stages mentioned here.
Stage I – Registration: While applying for PU CET 2020, candidates have to first of all register by entering details like name, email ID, contact number, etc.
Stage 2 – Log In: Once the registration is done, candidates have to login using the unique registration number and password which candidates must keep safe with them.
Stage 3 – Fee Payment: Candidates can pay the fee via e-challan. Candidates have to enter the required information in the application form and generate the bank challan from the application form. The fee has to be paid via e-challan which has to be deposited at any branch of State Bank of India. Application fee details are mentioned below.

Stage 4 – Uploading Documents and Filling Application: In this stage, candidates have to upload their scanned photograph and signature (as per the prescribed specifications), and fill other required details.
Stage 5 – Preview Application Form: At this stage, candidates can preview their entered details and edit/modify/change the particulars in case required.
Stage 6 – Print Application: The last stage of the application form of PU CET 2020 is to take a printout of the submitted form. The printout has to be kept with the candidates only for future reference.

Be familiar with the syllabus and exam pattern of PU CET.
Divide the syllabus as per the time left for the exam.
Get the best books to prepare and decide daily target for study. Meet the daily and monthly targets.
Take lot of mock tests and practise ample sample papers and previous years question papers of PU CET.

The PUCET UG exam has been scrapped for 2020 due to the COVID-19 situation, otherwise, the UG papers have MCQ based questions and are conducted in offline mode. For PG courses, all the tests will be conducted in offline mode but their type will vary as per the courses. As per Panjab University exam pattern, the UG entrance test for all subjects except for B.P.ed. will be of seventy minutes, while the PG entrance test will be of 1.5 hours. PU CET Admit Card
PU CET admit card for UG programmes is released in online mode. Candidates are required to download their PU CET admit card by using their login ID and Password generated at the time of generating the Bank Challan. After downloading, candidates will be required to check the details on it and ensure that all the particulars are correct and take a printout of it. The admit card has to be taken to the exam centre on the exam day.

PU CET Answer Key 2020
The answer key of PU CET for UG courses is released in online mode. Candidates will have to download the answer key as per the exam they have taken and the code of their respective paper. The answer key of PU CET carries the correct answer options for the questions asked in the exam. PU CET answer key will be released for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Candidates will also get a couple of days to challenge or submit objections against the answer key of PU CET through e-mail only by paying the requisite fee.

PU CET Exam Pattern 2020 for B.Sc. (Hons.)
PU CET 2020 exams for BSc. courses have been scrapped for 2020. The subject combination differs as per the course opted for. For BSc. in Botany and Zoology, candidates have to opt for subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) only, which was held for 3.30 hours (70 minutes for each of the three pages). For the rest of the courses except Mathematics, candidates have to opt for subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM). The paper combinations of PCB or PCM is held for a duration of 3.30 hours, however, when an additional paper (Mathematics or Biology) is opted for along with either of the combinations, the exam duration is 4.40 hours. For BSc. in Mathematics, candidates are required to opt for Mathematics paper only which is held for 70 minutes only. Each paper is held on the same day, but in different time slots for 70 minutes each. Candidates need to answer 60 objective type questions from each paper. Each correct answer fetches 2 marks, while .25 or 1/4th marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
PU CET B.Pharma Exam Analysis
PU CET Exam Pattern 2020 – For B.Pharmacy
PU CET 2020 for B. Pharmacy will be held in an offline mode. Candidates can opt for a subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), which was held for 3.30 hours. They can also opt for an additional subject – Mathematics or Biology with these combinations with an additional application fee of Rs. 300. When an additional subject is added along with the PCM and PCB combinations, the exam duration becomes 4.40 hours. Each Paper – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be held for 70 minutes wherein candidates have to answer 60 questions for 120 marks. The questions are objective in nature wherein each correct answer will get 1 mark, while for each incorrect answer, 1/4th or .25 marks will be deducted.
PU CET Result 2020
PU CET result is announced in the onlinemode. The result of PU CET for UG courses carries the qualifying status of the candidates as “Qualified” or “Not qualified” for subject combinations - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB), Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and Mathematics only. General category candidates need to have at least 15% marks and reserved category (SC/ST/BC/PwD) will need minimum 10% marks in the PU CET exam to be considered qualified in the exam.

PU CET Cut off 2020
PU CET cut off 2020 is the minimum marks candidates must secure in order to be considered eligible for the admission. Candidates taking PU CET 2020 must secure minimum 15% marks (for General category) and 10% marks (for SC/ST/PwD/BC) in order to be considered qualified in the exam.
Candidates are offered admission based on the final merit list which is prepared by combing 75% weightage given to PU CET 2020 percentile score+class 12th marks+weightage for other activities.

Once the candidates qualify in the exam, they will have to fill admission form to participate in the counselling procedure. Filling this admission form is mandatory if candidates want to take admission.

Post the submission of PU CET 2020 admission form with certificates, candidates have to opt for choice filling and choice locking in terms of courses they want to opt for in the colleges preferred.
PU CET 2020 counselling may be held in 3 rounds or more in an online mode. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling for seat allotment. After registration, candidates have to report to the allotted institute/department as per the notified date to confirm their seat. In case seats are left vacant, an offline counselling round may also be announced. Candidates, once admitted have to pay the full admission fee (as applicable). The admission fee payment has to be made on the spot through Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh payable at State Bank of India, Sector – 14, Chandigarh).
