The college infrastructure is well developed and provides a supportive environment for academic and extracurricular activities. The campus is spacious and designed to meet the needs of students and faculties.
The institution follows a well designed curriculum that aligns with university guide lines and industry requirements ensuring that students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge. .
The placement cell of the college plays a significant role in bridging between academic learning and professional employememt. It is well organised and actively works to provide career opportunities for students.
The college offers good value for money by providing quality education and comprehensive facilities at a reasonable cost. The fee structure is transparent and aligned with the academic resources made available to the students.
The campus life at the college is vibrant, engaging and supportive offering the students a balanced blend of activities. The institution encourages holistic development by providing numerous opportunities for students.
My overall experience at the college has been positive and enriching. The institution has provided me with a strong academic foundation with opportunities for personal and professional growth. The members are supportive, knowledgeable, approachable, always willing to guide students beyond classroom teaching. The teaching methods have helped me understand concepts clearly and apply them to day to day life. The campus environment has been welcoming and disciplined which creates a focused atmosphere.
My college has all the basic infrastructure needed for students. The classrooms are clean and have projectors or smart boards. Labs are good and are used regularly for practicals. The library has enough books and a quiet place to study. Sports facilities are available for students. Hostels and common areas are kept clean, and hygiene is maintained. The food in the canteen and mess is generally clean and okay. Overall, the infrastructure is good and helpful for daily college life.
I am studying engineering because I am interested in technical subjects. The teaching quality is good, and most teachers explain concepts clearly. They are helpful when students ask doubts. The syllabus is updated and includes important topics related to the field. Practical labs, assignments, and projects help in understanding subjects better. What we study gives a basic idea about industry needs and helps students become job-ready with some extra effort.
Placements in the college are decent. Many companies visit the campus every year, especially for IT, Computer, and Electronics branches. Around 60% of students get placed depending on their skills. The highest packages are offered to Computer and IT students, while the average package is reasonable for freshers. The placement cell is supportive and provides training like aptitude practice and mock interviews. Overall, the placement process is smooth and helpful.
The yearly fee for my course is around ₹1,18,000. Compared to other private colleges, this fee is reasonable. The college provides good facilities, teaching support, labs, and placement help. If students use these opportunities properly, the education feels worth the money. Overall, the college offers good value for the fees paid.
The campus is clean, green, and pleasant. There are open spaces, canteens, and areas where students can relax. The college organizes technical, cultural, and sports events regularly. Students are friendly, teachers are approachable, and staff members are helpful. The location is safe and well connected by public transport. Security and basic medical support are available. Campus life is enjoyable and balanced.
Average infrastructure The college infrastructure is decent but not very impressive. The classrooms are okay for regular lectures, but they do not have many modern facilities. Labs are available and usable, though some equipment feels old and could be improved. The library is helpful but limited in space and resources. Overall, the infrastructure is manageable for studies, but there is clear room for development and better maintenance.
Average studying The academic experience at the college is fairly average. The syllabus is mostly up to date and covers the required subjects, but the teaching quality depends a lot on individual faculty members. Some teachers explain concepts clearly and are supportive, while others rely more on theory than practical understanding. Exams are conducted regularly, and internal assessments help students stay on track. Overall, academics are satisfactory, but more focus on practical learning and consistent teaching quality would make it better
Placement is not that goodThe placement opportunities at the college are average and may not meet everyone’s expectations. Only a limited number of companies visit the campus, and the salary packages offered are mostly on the lower side. Some students do get placed, but many have to look for opportunities on their own outside the campus. The placement cell does provide basic support, but stronger industry connections and more company tie-ups are needed to improve overall placement outcomes.
It's not value for moneyDescription: When it comes to value for money, the college does not fully justify the fees charged. The overall facilities, academic support, and placement opportunities do not match the amount students invest. While basic infrastructure and teaching are provided, there is nothing exceptional that makes the cost feel worthwhile. Many resources such as laboratories, library facilities, and campus amenities are average and need improvement. The academic experience varies from teacher to teacher, which makes it difficult for students to feel confident about the return on their investment. Placement support is also limited, and students often have to depend on their own efforts to secure jobs.
Campus life at the college is good and enjoyable overall. The environment is friendly, and it is easy to connect with classmates and seniors. There are various cultural events, festivals, and small activities that help break the routine of academics and make college life more lively. Spending time with friends on campus, during lectures or free hours, creates good memories and a sense of belonging. Although the campus is not very large or highly modern, it feels comfortable and active on most days.
I joined KJSIT (Somaiya Ayurvihar campus, Sion) a few years ago and overall the infrastructure is impressive. The college has a big G+8 main building plus a new Riturang block with airy, well-lit classrooms and hi-tech labs. Every department has its own computer lab – in fact, the official site boasts about 827 PCs (Intel i3) on a LAN/Wi-Fi network with 150 Mbps internet, and I’ve experienced fast campus-wide Wi-Fi myself. The library is a highlight: it’s quite large (about 410 sq. meters) and stocked with over 6,500 book titles and hundreds of journals and e-resources. We also have an air-conditioned 460 m² auditorium and seminar hall for events, and a canteen with outdoor seating (plus an eco-friendly compost system for waste). Sports facilities are plentiful – we have a real cricket ground and football turf, basketball and volleyball courts, and even an Olympic-standard banked skating track run by the Somaiya Sports Academy. In short, the campus feels modern and well-maintained, and seniors often comment on how the infrastructure (labs, Wi-Fi, library etc.)
Academics here are decent and quite hands-on. Most of my professors hold M.Tech or PhDs, and they really push us to do projects and practical work. For example, our IT department emphasizes project-based learning – in my final year I worked on IoT and AI/ML projects as part of the course. The syllabus is updated (they recently added AI/Data Science streams), and teachers regularly host guest lectures or workshops. In class, profs are generally approachable – I often pop in for doubts or career advice and they help out. Several student reviews confirm this friendly vibe (many mention teachers being helpful with internships and assignments. The difficulty is fair: exams can be tough if you slack, but overall I feel we’re getting a solid engineering foundation with useful industry skills.
Placements at KJSIT are taken seriously by the training and placement (T&P) cell. The recent placement reports show about 32 companies came on campus for the 2024 batch, with the highest package around ₹17.5 LPA and average about ₹6 LPA. In practice, my peers have landed jobs in companies like Deloitte, IDFC First, Media.net, TCS, Accenture, etc. (I even saw people get offers from startups and banks). One classmate got into Infosys and another into a fintech firm at ₹8–10 LPA. The placement team organizes a lot of preparation – they do mock interviews, group-discussion workshops and aptitude tests. On their site they list “expert talks, interview guidance, job fairs, alumni grooming sessions” etc. as support we get. I attended a couple of those sessions, and they definitely helped my confidence. Because of this support, nearly everyone tries for placements; seniors told me that over 90% of eligible students snag internships by final year.
As for value for money, KJSIT isn’t cheap. The fees for a general (open category) engineering seat are roughly ₹1.95 lakh per year(about ₹1.65L tuition + ₹0.30L other fees). It’s comparable to other private Mumbai colleges. Given what we get – the good infrastructure, active placement cell, industry-aligned curriculum – many students feel it’s worth the cost. In fact, one student review flat-out said this college was “value for money” and “well-renowned” for its setup. Considering a graduate can expect ₹6–8 LPA on average, the return on investment seems decent. Of course, not everyone is in love with the price tag, but the general feeling I’ve heard is that the quality of labs, teaching, and campus life justify it.
Campus life is lively and fun. Being part of Somaiya Ayurvihar means we enjoy a huge, green campus (it’s ~85 acres including the med and pharma colleges). There’s always something happening here. We have a bunch of student clubs – for instance, the Google Developer Student Club is very active (we run hackathons and tech talks), and there’s a Cyber Security club, IoT club, Entrepreneurship Cell, robotics cell, and more. On the cultural side, the student council organizes SURGE (our annual cultural fest) and the tech committee runs Renaissance (technical fest). I’ve participated in dance and coding competitions at these fests, and they’re a blast. Sports are big too: I play on the college football turf and go skating on the banked rink on weekends. Overall, the crowd is pretty diverse (we have students from across Maharashtra and India), and the vibe is friendly. Many of my friends say they really enjoyed college fests, sports meets and the clubs – it makes student life feel balanced between work and fun.
