About MIT Chennai
Madras Institute of Technology was established in 1949 by Shri. C. Rajam. The college was merged with Anna University in 1978. MIT Chennai is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Madras Institute of Technology also has NIRF ranking. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is affiliated to Anna University. The mission of the college is to promote quality education with the vision of nurturing professionals for the welfare of society.

Athenaeum- It is owned by the student representatives and promotes co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. It helps to inculcate leadership qualities, management and entrepreneurial skills.
Personality Development Association (PDA)- The association helps the students develop individual skills and gives them exposure of global competitive environment.

Many facilities are provided by the college for the overall development of the students.
