Matu Ram Institute of Engineering and Management, Rohtak Admission Process

Matu Ram Institute of Engineering and Management (MRIEM) in Rohtak is a well-known engineering college and holds affiliation with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The college offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various branches of engineering. The admission process in MRIEM has been designed in such a way that only talented and deserving candidates-the best of the best-are taken. MRIEM admissions and admissions in most northern institutes are counted down due to the national-level entrance exams for most programs. The undergraduate programs are particularly at the receiving end of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. As the examination is usually conducted numerous times a year, candidates keep checking the outcomes immediately after each completion. However, the gate to the postgraduate program, mostly to M.Tech programs, lies in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination and applicants' respective scores.

Criteria for admissions differ from one program to the other at MRIEM. The basic eligibility for a B.Tech-degree program is a 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. The institute partially follows the JEE Main's criterion. Truth be told that GATE scores are vital for M.Tech admission, and any student completing a Bachelor in Engineering or Technology can take admission in the same. This is an emerging hub for 8 different engineering courses, and, needless to say, it can receive up to 383 students who wish to make it their learning hub with all the discipline provided by the Institute in order to attain balance towards learning.

Application Process

  1. The application process is different for every B.Tech program at the school:
  2. Qualify in the JEE Main exam.
  3. Register immediately with the state or central admission authorities for the counseling process.
  4. Choose MRIEM and your B.Tech program during counseling.
  5. Report at MRIEM for document verification and completion of admission formalities in case a seat is allotted.

For M.Tech programs:

  1. Take the GATE examination and obtain valid scores.
  2. To apply, approach MRIEM directly or apply with available central admission processes.
  3. The selected candidates might have further selections rounds to clear such as PI (Personal Interview).
  4. Finally, it will depend on the GATE score and extra metric if taken.
  5. For MBA and BCA programs: Candidates must check with the college website or communicate with the admission office as the applications for the Management programs may differ from those for other Engineering ones.

The documents required for admission generally include:

  • Copy of J-Wain/ GATE score
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
  • Graduation mark sheets along with degree certificate (if applicable to the chosen program) Concertainig any period of time granted
  • Category certificates (as applicable)
  • Domicile certificate (as applicable)
  • Passport size photographs
  • Any other documents that may be required by the Institute at the time of admission.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Tech: MRIEM has four B.Tech programs on the anvil, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Admissions to these programs are based on JEE Main scores. The intake capacities are as follows:

  1. B.Tech Mechanical Engineering: 63 seats
  2. B.Tech Civil Engineering: 60 seats
  3. B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering: 30 seats
  4. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering: 30 seats

M.Tech: This school runs two M.Tech programs:

  1. M.Tech Structural Engineering and Construction: 18 seat
  2. M.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering: from 9 onwards

M.Tech program candidates go through admissions, largely based on GATE scores. It is essential for candidates for the relevant B.Tech or B.E. degree to apply.

MBA: In MRIEM, MBA is run only with 60 seats. Though the admission process may be conducted through its entrance exam, it might also take into account the scores of another national-level management entrance test.

BCA: An intake of 60 seats is there for Bachelor of Computer Applications offered by this institution. The admission process for BCA may have different criteria about which interested candidates should get it clarified from the institute.
