IIT Kharagpur Admission Process

IIT Kharagpur offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. IIT Kharagpur admissions are offered to courses such as B.Tech, B.S, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Sc, B.Tech M.Tech, M.Sc Ph.D and Ph.D programmes. IIT Kharagpur M.Tech admission is offered based on the GATE scores. IIT Kharagpur Application Process

Candidates should register by visiting the official website of the institute.

IIT Kharagpur UG Admissions 2024

At the UG level, the college offers B.Tech, B.S and B.Arch. The college offers B.Tech in the following specialisations - Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and others. Students aspiring to take admission to IIT Kharagpur UG courses need to appear for JEE Advance.

IIT Kharagpur UG Admission Process

Candidates must meet the IIT Kharagpur eligibility criteria.
Next, aspirants have to apply for IIT-JEE (Advanced) and appear for it.
Following that, candidates have to get themselves registered on the official website of JoSAA.
IIT-JEE (Advanced) counselling through JoSAA includes registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allotment, and payment of seat acceptance fee.
Candidates are chosen based on their IIT-JEE (Advanced) score as well as their preferences made during the counselling process.
Once assigned a seat, students must get their documents verified and pay the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur course fee.

IIT Kharagpur offers admission to various PG programmes in multiple fields. Some of the PG programmes are M.Tech, M.Sc, Dual Degree, B.Tech M.Tech. The duration of the IIT Kharagpur PG courses ranges from 2 to 5 years.

Next, the authorities will also announce the qualifying GATE cutoff along with the results.
Candidates must meet the cutoff to qualify for GATE.
Based on the GATE scores, aspiring candidates are offered seats.
Once assigned a seat, visit the campus.
Candidates must submit the documents for verification and pay the desired course fee to complete the IIT Kharagpur admission process.

Candidates must first meet the eligibility requirements.
Aspiring candidates must take the Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM).
Candidates must participate in the counselling process after passing the entrance exam.
Candidates who are chosen will be notified online.
After receiving an admission offer, students have four subset options in the online portal, out of which they must choose one.

if u want to persue mechanical eng.. then u should consider tier 2 iit because opting for branch chanche option is avialable in very few iits and also it is very difficult to get your branch change in iit because it require quite high cgpa.

Hello,

No, IIT Kharagpur does not accept NATA scores for admission to its B.Arch program. Admission to the B.Arch program at IIT Kharagpur is based on the JEE Advanced Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) scores, along with meeting other eligibility criteria set by the institute. Therefore, if you are interested in pursuing B.Arch at IIT Kharagpur, you would need to appear for JEE Advanced and subsequently the AAT exam.
