What is B.Ed. M.Ed. Dual degree?

B.Ed. M.Ed. is an integrated dual degree programme that combines both B.Ed. and M.Ed. B.Ed. stands for bachelor of education and M.Ed. stands for Master of Education. The duration of a separate B.Ed. programme is two years. M.Ed. also takes two years. Thus, if separately pursued B.Ed. and MEd. then it takes four years. Completion of an undergraduate degree programme is mandatory to enroll in B.Ed. While completion of a postgraduate degree programme is mandatory to enroll in M.Ed. The course cannot be pursued immediately after 10+2 or a Bachelor’s degree but aspirants must be Postgraduates; however, there are exceptions offering an integrated B.Ed. M.Ed. programme even after completion of UG final year examinations.

  • All candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) must have a Master’s degree in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences or any other equivalent course with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent , unless stated otherwise.

  • The minimum age limit is 16 years whereas the maximum age limit is 21 years, unless stated otherwise.

Note – Some colleges may allow candidates to apply even in their final year of UG, provided they show their mark sheets on the prescribed dates.
