Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi was established by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and Bhagwan Das in the year 1921. It was formerly known as Kashi Vidyapith and later on, it was renamed to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith. The university is also known as MGKVP. The varsity has been inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is administered under the state legislature of the government of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Vibhuti Narayan Singh Rural Medical Institute Gangapur Campus, Varanasi. And N.T.P.C. Campus, Shaktinagar, Sonebhadra are the other campuses of MGKVP.

NSS - National Service Scheme is a public service programme. MSS is administered by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The members of NSS MGKVP works for the upliftment and betterment of society. NSS serves the underprivileged section of the and solely works with an agenda of community service. The students of NSS serve society and helps the underprivileged section of society so that they can have a better life and have the least amount of suffering. It spreads the message of selfless love and social service and inculcates the spirit of social service amongst the students.
