does nit or iit aacepts 75 percentage by best five because i have not scored well in math so can i replace it by physical education in top five

Sharon Rose Student Expert 3rd Apr, 2020

Hello,

To be eligible to get admission in IITs/NITs/GFTIs a candidate must have passed 10+2 with atleast 75% for general category and for SC/ST it is 65%.Now for admission in B.E/B.tech Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject. So you cannot exclude Maths. And you need to score 75% aggregate overall not in each individual subject.

hey career 360 I am a jee aspirant .Iwant to ask that what in your opinion I should chose as optional subject physical education or I.P. ( computer).

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 29th Mar, 2020
Hello,

If you are keen in learning something new  and acquire skills related computer and if you can manage time to do so because keep in mind that IP is not easy, you will have to reserve time to prepare for this subject. But when comes to Physical Education, scoring is very easy as i myself scored 90+ with 3 days of dedicated preparation. So, choice is upto you whether you want marks with less preparation or marks with more preparation but a chance to learn something  new that might help you in future.

I hope this helps.

can i include entrepreneurship and physical education with business studies and English for top 4 subjects in Delhi university for b.com?

Aastha jain 7th May, 2020

No, the 2 you mentioned are your extra subjects, you cannot include them in top 4. Your top 4 should include a language( English in your case), business studies, Maths (if you have), Accounts and Economics. If you didn't have maths, then you can put the subject you took in place of it in top 4.

Hope his helps

Hello Surajpratap,

I would like to tell you that if you want to opt commerce then accounts is a compulsory subject so you cannot skip accounts in any of the way.

You can have option for opting commerce with or without maths but you cannot go for commerce without accountancy as it is a compulsory subject.

Hope your doubt is cleared

Thanks!

rehan18alam Student Expert 16th Mar, 2020

Dear aspirant,

Yes you must opt for economics if you want to pursue a career in in commerce field like BBA which is a bachelors in business administration degree. You do not have to worry whether you have studied economics in grade 9 or 10 as you will get to know the economics from the basics in class grade 11th and 12th. Do not worry if you don't know the basics yet. Economics is also a must subject if you want to make a career in commerce field in many courses.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

I had following subjects in my 12 th standard {maths, chemistry , physics, English and physical education} .Can i have Maths, Chemistry , English and Physical education as BEST OF FOUR in B.Sc. statistics in DU ?

Pompi Bhadra 22nd Apr, 2020
Hello Aspirant!
The basic eligibility criteria for B.Sc. (Hons.) in Statistics as per DU Bulletin of Information 2019-20 is -
1. 50% marks in Mathematics and an aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
2. Best of Four aggregate % will be based on marks obtained in one language, Mathematics and two best elective/academic subjects.

So, you may include Physical Education for calculation of your Bo4. But, it will result in deduction of 2.5% to 5% from your Bo4 percentage depending on the individual college as this subject is not included in the list of subjects provided by DU.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further queries in this regard.
I hope this answer will help you.

I m currently entered in class 12 having commerce with ip but having problem in my subject ip now i want to switch to physical education, but it will be worth to change my subject?

Neha Kanwar 13th Mar, 2020

Hello Jai,

I would suggest you that if you are having problem and feel like you won't be able to score good in IP then you should surely switch if it is possible to switch now as you should go on with the subject you are more comfortable with.

If you feel somewhere that you won't be able to score good in IP then one wrong decision can hamper your 12th result as this is an additional subject and scores in this subject may help you further in adding this subject to the Best 4 at the time of getting admissions.

Ive drawing and physical education as extra subjects. Will their marks be added in my result if my chemistry paper doesnt do well?

mjaisinghani62 5th Mar, 2020

Hello aspirant

Physical education is a graded Subject . It is mandatory to pass in P. E.

But it can't be replaced by any other subject . Drawing  also extra subject.  If you have not done well in chemistry , and if you have PCMB or biotechnology.

Suppose you are not qualifying with PCM, then maths  can be replaced by biology or biotechnology or IT or Technical subject to qualify

But  PC y are compulsory subjects  .If you are getting even passing marks in physics and chemistry then one of the above subject can be taken as 3rd subject in which you have got good marks but not drawing and P.E.

But to qualify for IIT or nit, you have to score 75% aggregate .
