Hi, admission to DU is based on the aggregate marks scored in your 4 best subjects and not overall aggregate marks secured in the qualifying exam.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology: Candidates must secure 55 percent or more in aggregate of 3 subjects(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology/Biotechnology) and must pass in one compulsory language i.e. English with 50 percent marks. Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 science subjects PCM or PCB/Biotechnology. Applicants who have studied both Mathematics and Biology, i.e., PCMB at qualifying exam will be given 3 percent relaxation.

Only 4 colleges in DU offer B.Sc (Hons) in Food Technology out of which 3 are womens's colleges. But you will be able to apply to Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences by 2nd or 3rd list.

If you wish to pursue to this course, I'll recommend some other colleges as you only have one college available to apply for.

  • Loyala Academy and PG Degree college, Telanga: Admission would be taken on the basis of an entrance exam followed by an interview. A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with Minimum 55% Inter / XII MPC / BiPC in science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
  • Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions, Dehradun: Candidate must have in class 10+2 with Science stream from a recognized board. Admission is based on the marks obtained in 10+2.
  • ITM, Gwalior: Admission is done through ITM NEST Entrance tests. The candidate should have passed in 10+2 in Science/Math/Agriculture with 50% marks.
  • Andhra Loyala College, Andhra Pradesh: Candidate should have passed 10+2 with Biological science, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects from recognised board.
  • D.G.M.M.E.S. College Mampad, Kerala: A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
  • Safi Institue of Advanced study, Kerala: Candidate must have passed 10+2 Science with Mathematics or its equivalent from recognised board.
  • Doon Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun: Candidate must have passed 10+2 Science from recognised board.

Hope this helped. Good Luck
