hi I am married women and my husband income is less than 8 lac , we live in nuclear family and MIL also has pension and a plot (180 gaj) in her name but she does not live with us.. I want to know whether I am eligible for EWS certificate.?

However, check these conditions:

1. Family Definition : For EWS, "family" includes you, your husband, children, and parents (not in-laws).
   
   
2. Income Limit : Total family income (including salary, business, and agriculture) should be below Rs. 8 lakh per year (excluding MIL’s pension if she’s not dependent on you).
   
   
3. Land & Property :
   
   
   • Agricultural land ≤ 5 acres.
     
     
   • Residential plot ≤ 200 sq. yards in a non-municipal area or ≤ 100 sq. yards in a municipal area.

Since your MIL's property is in her name and she does not live with you, it may not be counted under your family assets. Consult the local Tehsil office for exact verification.
