M.Tech in Geomatics is a multi-disciplinary professional course wherein advanced subjects like Remote Sensing, GIS, Database Management Systems, Spatial Data analysis, Programming languages, Photogrammetry, GPS and Location Based Systems, LiDAR, Big-data, Web and Mobile GIS, Open Source technologies, Project Planning and Geo-visualization are taught. It gives a unique opportunity to explore the wide applications in multidisciplinary fields of Engineering, Construction, Infrastructure, Utilities, Planning, Management, Information Technology and Governance.
The program emphasizes on theory, practical applications through hands-on exercises, studio (real-time case studies) and independent dissertation. Faculty members are drawn from scientific and academic institutions, experienced professionals with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge who bring applied experience to the classroom. A wide exposure and encouragement to be a part of rich knowledge exchange programs such as national and international seminars, workshops and summer schools pertaining to the Geospatial industry, have remained a key strength of the program over the years, since its inception at CEPT University in 1987.
Admission Process
As per the decision of the University, the entire application process will be conducted online. Admission form is common for all above three programs and a single form is required to be filled to get admission in any of the above programs.
Eligibility Criteria
A minimum of 55% aggregate marks in bachelor’s/Master’s degree for general category candidates and 50% for SC/ ST/OBC category candidates is required for all the PG Faculty of Technology Program. Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in – Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Agriculture, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology. Bachelor of Architecture or Planning Masters of – Basic Science, Earth Science, Climate Science, Environment Science, Information Technology, Disaster Management, M A in Geography.
