Hi,
Primarily IIM Ahmedabad is an older school with slightly better network by the virtue of being older. ISB on the other hand has the best faculty and pedagogy in India, and has developed an amazing network since it's birth. IIMA has two year programmes that require little to no work experience in their pgp programmes while ISB has one year programme that mandates a minimum of 2 years work experience. Both IIMA and ISB have great placements.
But overall, IIMA is almost a clear choice for most of the aspirants.
Hope it helps.
Hello there,
Insead is better than IIM-A.
IIMA usually has students with less than 2 years of experience (mostly freshers) and INSEAD has students with average 5 years experience (most have extensive international experience as well). Even though IIMA has several bright students, the exposure that you will get at INSEAD will not be possible at IIMA.
Opportunities available at IIMA are mostly based in India, whereas from INSEAD they are more global.
Top IIMs have unbeatable reputation in India. But INSEAD is way ahead in reputation globally.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
There are lot of factors taken into consideration when it comes to selection of IIM A/B/C such as CAT scores, the past academic records of the candidates for 10th/12th/UG, work experience, gaining knowledge through certification courses, the entire profile in terms of extra-curricular activities, volunteering etc, so there are lots of ways to improve oneself if not one comes from a not well known college, his/her academic records, CAT percentiles, entire profile can be build up, also what matters here are soft skills such as good communication skills, time management skills, critical thinking skills etc, as these also form basis of evaluation for candidates, so it's not difficult but a candidate needs to be well aware of the areas that require improvements, and accordingly take the steps to achieve the success.
Although IIM A is not the best campus for human resources, it is the best in its class. Furthermore, I believe that the 'Specialization' thing should not be dependent on the institute, but rather on what a person actually wants to do with their career. Choose wisely, regardless of the institute, because you will have to live with it for many years.
All the best!!
Bangalore: Well-balanced across both years. They have credits that are similar across both years (50 credits each year, a course = 3 credits (mostly), 1 course = 20 hours of 90-minute classroom sessions). The lectures will be a mix of concept lectures and case studies. Quizzes, class participation, and mid- and end-of-term exams were mostly announced. Bangalore places a strong emphasis on public policy, and many of these courses are available as electives.

Calcutta: As far as I know, balanced across both years.
Case studies, concept lectures, seminars, and other activities are mixed in. In general, lectures are quantitatively heavy. End-of-term and mid-term exams are given more weightage, giving rise to the colloquial term chill IIM. There is an equal amount of effort there, but it is consolidated at a certain point in time.

All the best aspirant!!
Greetings,
Personal Interview Round in IIMs and all other top B-schools is the most important part of MBA admission process and commands even higher weightage than you have scored in CAT and all.
My one of the acquainted friend gave the interview told me it was quite smooth he was asked about his qualifications hobbies and all, if you'll be prepared for all of this then surely you'll not face any such problems.
I hope it might help you !!
Best of luck !!
hello,
some IIMs take into consideration excellent academic background at school and college level. But there are other B-ones like IIM Lucknow and the new IIMs that have put into place eligibility criteria that do not want students to be just academically good , but they see some other qualities too.
if being average , you mean having normal scores in 10,12th its fine , but you need to work hard , at interviews or in the classes to keep it to the syllabus . it is diificult to get into IIm ahmedabad being an average student with average grades , but you can always work harder.
hope it helps
all the best.
Hello,
Hope you are doing great! Here's your answer!
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a government institute located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad. IIM Ahmedabad is the best MBA college in our country. The institute was established in the year 1961 set up by the Government of India with the collaboration of the Government of Gujarat and Indian industry as an independent institute. The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has been ranked the best business school (B-school) in the country year after year for many years. It has been one of the few Indian educational institutions to have found a mention in the global pecking order as well.
IIM have won top spots in various global and national MBA rankings and also possess accreditation of international level. Apart from the IIMs which rank high globally, the other IIMs too become the choice of over 2,00,000 CAT aspirants when it comes to selecting a B-school. IIMA became the first management school in the country to be awarded EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).
This is how Yogesh Jindal Prepared for placements at IIMA:-
There is No fixed pattern of the interview except for a simple fact that you will be asked questions based on what you speak. If you know the area where you want to go and want to work, almost half of the work is done. Then yo can concentrate your efforts in one direction only.
All the best!
Hope it will help!
Thank you!
Dear student,
If you were to take my opinion I don't consider them as one is greater than the other. I think they are absolutely at par. But it's a myth that iim Bangalore is considered to be better as I would the culture there is a bit different from what we get in iim ahemdabad.
Regarding placements , both offers a median package of 22-24L per annum.
