The best way one get describe IIT delhi is "platform helping us self learn'. The first thing which makes impression is infrastructure. IITD has refreshing and well maintained infrastructure. Its been two years but can't get bored of roaming when you want to. Classes are very comfortable, we have well maintained classrooms which have AC, comfortable seats. Next question one ask is exposure to corporate world. Well, we have intern which is starting of our involvement in corporate world. and experience is lot better then expected. Then is placements which is 100%. Placements are good because one becomes deserving, one self learn, grow in vast fields. Then comes what extra do we have, Our college gives many stages to perform like dance music and sports. Not only platform but learning, we have best dance society in delhi. We compete and have won many competitions in delhi and overall india. In sports, college give indoor and outdoor facilities, including best coach and stuff. Though, important is where you live i.e. Hostels. hostels are made like one learn to adapt himself in most kind of situations, does not mean they aren't good but it give things for indoor sports to extra curricular activities. Though food is not according to everyone but is not bad. Also studies, We have highly experienced professors. one can get good mark by attending lectures. professors give opportunity as projects self learning courses. They are friendly and can ask doubts comfortably. This is all one need, Self learning.

hey, IIT delhi have comfortable infrastructure. when it comes to classes, they are best on can get, comfortable seats, AC, projectors, whiteboard,Blower. and hostels are made such that you learn how to adapt yourself. they are not bad but they are enough for you to live and not feel homesickness. When it comes to the life in IIT delhi, we have extracurricular activities which keeps us fresh after classes, We have best dance society in delhi and actually have won many awards all over india. Sports facility are really good, which include Playground with all sports. This is what makes life in iit comfortable. when it comes to corporate exposure, Training and placement cell helps us getting involved in it. getting internships starts by 2nd year and communicates with many companies. So, it's rare to find students with no corporate exposure. Also the placements, we have 100% placements. It's the time to showcase the best you have. one never gets disappointed with placements because IIT gives you alot to learn with best Faculty, labs, projects. And if we talk about average placement, it is around 12 lpa, that is satisfying. As i talked about the sports and extracurricular activities which makes our life lot more enjoyable. I being a dancer and a director of dance society have competed in many fests and won. so, that was new experience. yes, hostels. They gives us millions of memories. they becomes our home for 4 years and nothing less than a happy place. We get all facilities, including good food, well maintained washrooms and rooms, place for our interest like dance rooms, music room, GYM etc etc. I talked about our faculty, they are helpful, you can ask them doubts and will get time asap. Teaching we get in classes are actually enough to understand concepts. overall the campus life is a new experience and a good experience, which will always teach you for the best. thankyou

The infrastructure needs to be updated, for example music rooms should be made soundproof. More industrial visits must b planned and organised as it will boost morale of students. Sports and music society made my life particularly enjoyable in such a monotonous routine of college. As far as hostels are concerned routers should be installed in each floors.

It is very good college, with an exceptionally poor physics department. Computer science department is too good, like the best department in the college. Facilities are good, but some weird restrictions are there. In all, it is a nice and wonderful experience.

Even IIT doesnt have the power if some people don't study. You cant blame the institute, the curriculum is itself a kind that makes slave out of students living here. If they don't stick to it, bam, they are behind in the blind race. Those who blindly follow are way ahead. Its simple, if you want to be good, blindly follow the curriculum, bury your dreams, your expectations. Otherwise, you won't get a chance to regret.

The placements were excellent with almost all the students getting placed with the highest package of about a crore but for US-based roles. The average package is competitive and on the higher side of what one can get for India-based roles, and the lowest can go to a little less but a decent package. All the software giants and finance and consulting companies come here, be it Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Visa, IBM or Goldman Sachs, Tower Research and McKinsey and a lot more hire from the college for Indian and foreign-based roles like Software Developer, Analysts, Consultants, and Program Managers profiles. Almost all the students got internships except for those who chose to do summer projects under the professors. Stipends are decent and can go up to a lakh for two months for the major companies. Some people also get pre-placement offers from their internships. Infrastructure : The infrastructure is excellent here with 24 hours of wifi in the hostels and institute areas. Apart from this, a LAN connection is also there in the hostels. The well-equipped library and classrooms(with AC, projectors, etc) in LHC add up to the infrastructure. There is a government hospital inside the campus and one can enjoy a whole bunch of both indoor and outdoor games like cricket, football, TT, badminton, tennis, squash, swimming etc. The canteen is good with a diverse menu and the hostel rooms are good as well. If there are any issues, then they get taken care at the earliest possible time interval. Faculty : The faculty team is well-qualified, talented, capable and very cooperative to the students. The teaching method varies from professor to professor, courses to courses and can be on the blackboard, labs or slides via the projectors. The student-faculty ratio should be around 5-6. I did my internship for two months in my 3rd year in Hyderabad. The course curriculum is one of the best in the country and really shapes students towards a bright future. Other Details : Everything is excellent here. The focus is both on industrial as well as research-based projects with a slight alignment to the research side. An inter-IIT sports meet is also organised annually. It is a place that one would remember forever and be always proud of.

One of the best engineering college of india

I am shivani and I am sharing my experience of IIT Delhi with you guys and I hope it will be helpful for you people. We all know that IIT delhi is one of the best college for Engineering and It has proved why it is considered among the best. The buildings look great from the outside and are centrally air-conditioned from inside. Going inside the classes the benches and the furniture is top notch. The seminar hall and the auditorium are equipped with the required projection and audio systems and the auditorium can accommodate 500 people at a time. There are a total of 4 libraries out of which 2 are huge and the other 2 are just there to increase the count. But when it comes to its usefulness, enough books are available at all the times and students find it satisfactory. The teachers are highly qualified and experienced. IIT DELHI has many clubs and societies to choose from. The main 3 are back (board of recreational and creative activities), BSW (board for student's welfare) and BSA (board for sports activities).Annual sports day is celebrated in December and students do take active part in the various events. Apart from this, celebrations include farewell parties and Diwali, but there is no specific college festival as such. In short, i would like to say that ,very helpful and knowledgeable faculty , good infrastructure , more opportunities.Overall IIT Delhi is a place for every student who is looking forward to a bright future.

it is good to be in the capital city of India. You get fair exposure with the industry. Placements sre best in India here. life is exciting but rigorous at the times of exams. IIT DELHI is not just about the college ...it is about the city you get to live in. Delhi is the best place to spend your 4 years of college life. Other IITs are notin the main cuty but IIT DELHI is in tue heart of NCR

It is top engineering college. But BITS provide better placement then IIT. If can afford more money I would suggest BITS Pilani. Infrastructure is also very good and the main thing is the fee for the course is very less, and everyone can afford. There is some other problems also like hostel is not very good as in summers air conditioner is not available. Faculty wise it is the best college in India.

it has very good lecture halls but labs need some improvement. their should be more practical learning than theory. my friends and dancing which i have started after coming here made my college life enjoyable. their are less placements in core for civil engineers.so they should look after that. two people in one room ,as we are now 3 in a single room. interaction with students. extremely talented.

IIT caters all the needs that the young and jubilant mimds from all across the nation needs. With a good faculty and the best among the best students, IIT is an experience once in a lifetime. The infrastructure being good and the hostel life being just equally awesome, IIT will surely make impressions of an all round personality development in your life. The hostels being certainly not so good from the institution. The recent hike in the fees is also irksome for the economically backward students

My time at India's best Engineering College

Souvik
Posted on 10 Feb' 17 by Souvik
Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Engineering Physics
An island of green with a handsome helping of modern infrastructure, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, has rightly been judged as India's best Engineering College three years in a row. It is also the highest ranked Engineering College in India worldwide, according to QS. However, contrary to popular belief, getting in is not the end, but only the beginning: Of unfathomable hardships and ridiculous rewards, of late night parties with your best friends and of moments of absolute despair. Academically, a lot of emphasis is put on systematic work and diligence. That being said, you will need to be extremely gifted to fail a course, or even better, an entire year. It has been 1 year since a new academic block has been set up, complete with air conditioned classrooms with 3 types of boards and labs with equipment, the likes of which I had never seen before. The constant growth, in terms of infrastructure that has been going on at IIT, echoes the lofty ambitions of those who inhabit its 800 acre campus. Most of the students are given a room in one of the 13 hostels, with 2 more in the plans of our director. While the living conditions at some hostels are questionable at best, most of the newer ones resemble apartment blocks. I have been extremely fortunate to find myself in the company of my batchmates in the youngest hostel, so young that we were the first batch of B.Tech. students here. If you have always dreamed about living with your friends, IIT Delhi's hostel life is sure to live upto it. The joy of watching the sun rise at 5 on a cool summer morning, from the 9th floor of the tallest building in the area surrounded by friends you live with is one experience I recommend everyone to try. I'd also take this opportunity to address the elephant in the room: the placements and packages. As far as I am aware, both internships and job offers are available in plenty, but not for those for whom getting into IIT was the end of their journey. The money offered ranges from a decent 8,00,000 rupees per year to grand salaries of 40,00,000 and even placements in the United States, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. Internships are organised by our very own Training and Placement Cell, but you can always find an opportunity for yourself; something which nearly half of the the students I work with have done at some point during their 4 year stay. Make sure you don't have any regrets in this regard, because if you belong to a middle-class Indian family, chances are a job at a reputed company has been your dream; and the regular course work is almost never sufficient to get you there. It is time for you to step out of your comfort zone and carve a niche for yourself, among 800 of India's brightest young minds. lastly and very importantly, you are never alone. There will always be someone who likes to paint just a little bit more than he wants a job; someone who could not pass any subject in the first year, someone who suffered a terrible injury that keeps him out of the college team; and someone who hates being forced into IIT. Your seniors have seen and done things most of you would have never imagined, and it is always a good idea to talk to them if you need any help. It is not wrong to feel a certain way, and it is certainly not wrong to have your own opinions. IIT Delhi is one of the few places in India where a helping hand is always around the corner; or in this case, in the room next to yours. So if you make it in, take my advice and don't put your flag down yet. You have only begun exploring what the world has to offer, and trust me, the world is extremely generous to those who are deserving.

Placement : Placements were good as always with 100% placements, but the highest and lowest salaries were not disclosed by the placement cell of IIT. Companies like Snapdeal, Bidgley, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs visited the campus. Internships were also offered to almost all the students of the department. I have heard of a stipend of 2 lacs per month, which was the highest here. Infrastructure : We have Wi-Fi in all the common areas. And a LAN facility is available in the hostel rooms from 6 AM to 1 AM. But we have a limited use of Internet, which is 10GB per week. We have a full equipped 24hr working hospital. The labs and classrooms are world-class and fully air-conditioned with well-equipped features for projecting slides or playing the video lectures. The sports, games and co-curricular activities are given a lot of importance here, and the canteen food and hostel rooms are good. No-infrastructure related issues here. Faculty : The faculty members at IITD are very good. They are super knowledgeable and well-qualified. All kinds of teaching methods like projecting slides, playing videos and writing on boards are used. But, the industry exposure is little less than expected. The curriculum is very well-planned and is very useful for the overall development of a student. Other Details : The annual technical and cultural fests here are splendid. In the technical fest "Tryst", world class professors and technicians are invited. And the cultural fest "Rendezvous" is the biggest college fest in north India, with many stars like Vishal and Shekhar, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Arijit Singh performing in the fest in the last few years.

I always dreamt of joining IIT and being at IIT Delhi is a dream come true. The kind of faculty this institute provides is good. They are rich and versatile. Facilities provided in laboratories and classrooms are good. College infrastructure is very good, with greenery all around. There are multiple canteens inside the campus which cater to the need of students, even at odd hours. Student life at IIT Delhi is fun. One gets the chance to follow their hobbies and interests.

I am a B.sc student. I have taken part in one of the tech fest held at Delhi IIT campus. I and my friends were actually got surprised by seeing the campus. The campus is actually very big. There are many buildings for different faculties. In heart of Delhi, it is full of greenery. There are very big hostels which are good in cleanliness. We have visited library which we found very huge. They are having many books and useful journals in stock. We have taken help from some faculties and we found they are very helpful and knowledgeable. I wished if I could study from such amazing campus. But I will surely try to master degree.

Great College, but hostel life can beat you up.

Let's are honest, no one expects to discover anything new from this review about one of the absolute top engineering colleges in the country, but here goes nothing. The Good - Absolute best minds in the country, in both faculty and students. Exposure to a whole gamut of academic and non-academic experiences that one is unlikely to find anywhere else, and It's in Delhi so you're never bored. The Bad - Not as tech-savy a campus as you'd expect from the best technical institute in the country. A lot of faculties resemble the caricatures one sees in movies and book The ugly - Hostel facilities can make you cry. There is no student body with any sort of say in administration and you'll often face the random idiosyncracies of the administration

All the freedom, all the exposure, all the knowledge, all the experiences we get here, are incredible. Before coming here, I never thought IIT life could be ever colorful with all the extra carries and sports, and people getting so much involved with them. It's not even 2.5 years into the institute, and I can very freely say that I have lived to my fullest, and many people too have. Positives: hostel life, company of friends, exposure to various clubs and societies, treasure chest of knowledge Negatives: most of the teachers lack the skill to teach, pressure, some people get involved in many bad habits

A bit hyped but overall it provides a good exposure to the real world being it corporate or social exposure but condition being you really want to learn. Infrastructure is getting better and better and exposure increasing exponentially,IIT being a good brand itself. Mess food is as bad as in any college but people here are really the best minds in India. Competition is very high and everyone can't sustain without a strong belief in themselves and a lot of patience. I believe you really go out as a changed person once you go through all the hardships and enjoyment during the four years.
