IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria 2024- Eligibility criteria
According to the conducting authority of CAT 2023, the exam is scheduled for November 26 and results for the same are expected to be out in the second week of January 2024. Candidates are requested to note that merely appearing for the CAT exam does not guarantee their admission into IIM Calcutta, they need to fulfil certain conditions which are as follows-:
Candidates must acquire a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.
Candidates belonging to the unreserved category need to score at least 50% or equivalent CGPA in their respective graduating field.
Students from reserved castes such as ST/SC and Pwd are awarded a relaxation of 5%, they are required to score 45% or equivalent CGPA in their graduation to apply for MBA in IIM Calcutta.
In case a candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/ CGPA to a percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the college/ institution/ university from where a bachelor’s degree has been obtained. In case the college/ institution/ university confirms that they do not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.
For candidates who have completed an integrated master's or dual degree directly after their 12th/ HSC, the percentage of marks obtained as per the college/ institution/ university which is considered equivalent to the bachelor’s degree will be considered. In case the dual degree for UG and PG marks are not separated by the college/ institution/ university, the PG marks shall be considered as a UG mark for eligibility and used for deriving composite scores in any stage of the admission process.
Candidates who will appear for their last semester examination or those who completed their graduation and awaiting results can also apply for an MBA in IIM Calcutta. If they get selected they have to submit a certificate by his/her Principal or Registrar of college stating that the student has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification before June 30, 2024. After submitting the certificate, candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally.
Candidates yet to complete the integrated masters or dual degree directly after the 12th/ HSC, the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in all the years/semesters till Aug 3, 2023, will be considered.
Candidates who graduated in the years 2020 to 2023, for which the universities didn’t conduct the exam or provide CGPA but just awarded pass or pass marks are also eligible to apply. All they have to do is, need to submit a certificate from the Principal/ Registrar of his/her college/ university stating that they did not conduct the exams or did not award marks or CGPA but awarded only pass or pass marks or promotion in one or more years/semesters.
Candidates who did not receive their graduating results at the time of registration are required to submit the certificates and mark sheet along with their photocopies to the university itself. If not submitted before December 31, 2024 could result in the cancellation of the admission.
IIM Calcutta has various stages for shortlisting the candidates so mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee admission to the institution.

Some of the best academics India has produced in recent years have called it home. IIM C, however, does not provide a Bcom programme.
Dear aspirant,
As you have secured 94 percentile in cat 2021 and considering you are from sc category so let me tell you that the cut offs depends on various factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
So accordingly the dynamics gets changed every year so you have the chances to get into this college as per the previous year trends.
