If your son is from the General category and is aiming for IISER Berhampur in 2025, here’s what you should know. Last year (2024), students who got a rank up to around 4400 in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) were able to get into IISER Berhampur. So, if he gets a rank under 4500, there's a very good chance he can get a seat.

Now, every year the cutoff can change a bit depending on how many students apply, how well they perform, and how many seats are available. But generally, if he’s serious about research and preparing well, he should aim for a rank below 4000 to be on the safer side for Berhampur and maybe even other IISERs.

The campus of IISER Berhampur has numerous facilities and infrastructure for students & faculty members. The varsity has individual boys and girls hostels, library, medical centre etc. The university has modern and upgraded sports facilities for students.

Hostel: IISER Berhampur has a total of five hostels for boys and three for girls with all the basic facilities available.

Library: The central library of the varsity was established in 2016. The library has a large collection of books, journals, periodicals etc. Students can easily find numerous streams’ books at the library.

Sports: IISER Berhampur has facilities for games such as cricket, football, table tennis, carrom etc. The varsity conducts numerous sports events and encourages students to participate in it.

Medical Facilities: The medical centre of the university provides medical consultation to staff, students and faculty members.

WiFi: Students and faculty members of the university can access wifi in every part of the campus.

IT Infrastructure: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Berhampur has a computer centre with a 50 MBPS internet connection. The systems in the computer centre have upgraded software and hardware. The computer is open all 365 days and has power backup.

Transport: The varsity offers transportation services to its students, staff and faculty members.

Laboratories: The university has separate computer labs for UG and doctoral students. The labs are equipped with the latest technology.

Guest Room: To accommodate the visiting faculty or other guests of the university, there is a guest house at the campus.

I would like to tell you that, looking at the previous year IIT JAM cutoff for Integrated Phd course, ...the chances for you to get admission in Integrated Phd through IIT JAM, with this rank,  will be little difficult. Further, please note that the above prediction is solely based on previous year cutoff and it bound to vary every as it depends on various factors.

Based on the last year IIT JAM cutoff,....Students who get admission for Int-PhD in Physics at institutes like IISc, IISER Pune, or IISER Kolkata score decent marks in IIT-JAM. You should have a rank under 300 if you want admission at IISc. The required cutoff for IISER Pune remains under 500. For IISER Kolkata, you will need a rank under 700 .
