    College Infrastructure

IISER MOHALI has a very large campus spread in 145 acre with a lot of greenary and wildlife in campus. College have all the modern labs and digital classes. There is a Central Analytical Facility in the college where scientific instruments of costs more than 1 crore are there and are very sensitive to noise. Library is of 7 floor with online facility. Every sports has an individual stadium. Cricket cum Football Stadium has more than 1000 people sitting capacity. There are indoor stadium as well.

    Academics

My aim from childhood was study basic science and to become a scientist. All the professors are well qualified and have their PhD and post doc from various renowned universities like MIT, Yale , Stanford etc. Teachers are very humble and helping. Course structure is fine and is according to the current time and foreign universities. For first two years you have to study all subjects and from third year onward you can choose your particular subject for major in which you want to do your research.

    Placements

IISER MOHALI is a basic science research institute. It doesn't offer any technical courses so direct placements from campus are not there. Students after their 5 year degree do their PhD from some of the best universities across the world. There is no placement cell in the college.

    Value for Money

It's fees as compare to other colleges like engineering colleges is very low and almost every student also get scholarship from KVPY or through Inspire. Approximate tuition fees of year is about 70,000

    Campus Life

IISER MOHALI is just a few kilometres away from the beautiful city Chandigarh so here you can enjoy all the clubs, parties and malls of both Chandigarh and Mohali. College also celebrate every festival. INSOMNIA- is the annual fest of IISER Mohali.

    Others

If you are interested toward basic science then it is one of the best institute in our India.

    College Infrastructure

IISER Mohali set up in 2007 . It has 8 floor library which is highly equipped with latest technology. WiFi is all time available the hostel rooms are designed for single person. It has good sports center. The laboratories are very well equipped. Having latest technologies. It is very clean place as it is nearby to Chandigarh all the things are easily available. It also has a shopping center and also has 4 canteens . There is one mess per hostel person can eat in any mess pay and eat option

    Academics

I am doing PhD chemistry in computational lab . The quality of teaching is good. Teachers are highly educated. I want to make my career in research . The curriculum is good. Students are not restricted in particular field like physics person even can read humanity biology person ca n read mathematics. students can gain knowledge and use that in their research work. The study is basically academic oriented and also prepare you for industry. There are some issues of fund in the institute (drawback

    Placements

IISER MOHALI is a research institute. The courses offered here are not professional courses and also students here are not hopping for a cooperate job. People actually studies PhD here and then go for post-docs outside India usually which can be easily grabbed by an IISER student. For Post-Docs and for PhD s in higher institutes and in international institutes the institute is very supportive.

    Value for Money

My course cost around 50,000 per year without food , hostel charges are included. And as a PhD student i get fellowship per month so yes it is value for money. Also, the food is not too costly. I feel my money worth because i am getting fellowship that amounts equal to an average job also i am studying in one of the reputed institute in INDIA from where i can approach anywhere in the world for my bright career. And also in outside India IISER is a very reputed institute.

    Campus Life

Campus is good and safe. One can roam in the campus any time. It has also wild life habitat so one should aware from snakes. The location is very beautiful. Shivalik mountains can be easily seen from the campus. It is an average sized campus . Students can engage in dance, music, sports, gym, yoga. Students and staff are very supporting . One drawback is that it don't have any late night canteen. 24 hours library is there in the campus . Also, there is a mall near the institute just in 1km .

    Others

Institute offers its bus facility in the evening through which student can connect through the city. Research environment is excellent also the environment is highly intellectual. People from all across India are there and also some international students. It also offers summer internships for students from other colleges.

    Hello,

B.Sc Physics aspirants must have at least cleared the 10+2 examination from a recognized Board in the Science stream and must have studied Physics as a mandatory subject at the qualifying level. Admission is merit-based most of the time, but some universities hold entrance exams for admission to BSc Physics.

    Thank you.
