Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is a private educational institution situated in Pollachi, Coimbatore District. MCET was established in 1998 to commemorate the 75th Birthday of the great visionary, Arutchelvar Dr N. Mahalingam. The college is affiliated to Anna University, and its courses are approved by AICTE. The college offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Engineering and Technology. It also offers programmes in computer application and research.

Location: Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) is located at Udumalai Road, Annamalai Nagar, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. IT is about 54 km away from the Coimbatore International Airport and about 4 km away from the Pollachi Junction and T.N.S.T.C Depot. It is well connected with all the neighbouring cities and towns and is easily reachable.

• MCET – Bosch  Rexroth  Center of  Competence in  Industrial  Automation Technology (M – BRAIN): The centre was established in collaboration with Bosch Rexroth Germany who is market leaders in drives and control equipment with the primary objective of producing trained personnel for automation in industries. 

• MCET - Centre for Design Analysis & Testing (C-DAT): The centre provides concept to product design. The centre also provides a solution to automotive & industrial domains. Its activities include design engineering & modelling, computer-aided engineering, analysis & testing.

• MCET – SIEMENS Centre for Digital Manufacturing: Siemens Industry Software India Pvt Ltd (SISW) partners with MCET to address workforce and education gaps in the field of Product Life cycle Management (PLM).

• MCET – ASIC Centre of Excellence: The centre was established in collaboration with Cadence Design Systems, Ireland in the year 2013, with the primary objective of imparting skill set to students in custom IC and Reconfigurable FPGA designs on par with present semiconductor industry needs.

• MCET – ALTAIR Centre of Excellence: The centre consistently delivers solution to automotive and aerospace manufacturers like BMW, Chrysler, FIAT, FORD, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes, NISSAN, SAAB, Toyota, Volkswagen, Airbus, BAE Systems, BELL Helicopter, BOEING, Bombardier, CESSNA & Sakthi Auto Components. The centre promotes consultancy and training activities for the benefit of MCET students and staff. 

• MCET – Keysight centre for RF communication systems: The centre intends to benefit students who dream to pursue their research in the field of advanced wireless communication and RF system design. It serves as a platform for students and aspirants to pursue their interest in the field of RF design.

• MCET TUV Rheinland Centre for Advanced Training: The centre offers skill development training in Welding, Non-Destructive Testing and Automobile trades.

• MCET – MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC Centre for Factory Automation: The centre spreads awareness in the area of automation technologies and provides the required skill set to get a job in the automation industry.

• MCET – Bosch Joint Certification Centre: The centre imparts training to undergraduate, postgraduate, polytechnic, vocational school students to meet industry requirements and bridge the academic gap to enhance the competency levels of students for better employability and opportunity  and to become an entrepreneur in the field of fuel system testing

• MCET – JANATICS Centre of Excellence for Mechatronics and Automation: The learning methodologies offered by the centre provides effectiveness in training and help the students to acquire the required set of technical competencies. The training programmes and associated workshops projects provide participants with the recent trends in the field of Pneumatics and Mechatronic systems

• NSS: NSS volunteers conduct a variety of activities, such as orphanage visits, awareness programs and health camps. In addition, the NSS holds annual camps in a rural location, where students assist the residents in the development of their village.

• NCC: NCC fortifies character, command and discipline among the students. It provides framing for a career in the forces. NCC  Cadet Crop organises and trains youth and provide leadership in all walks of life including the Armed and Navy forces. It also creates a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.

• Youth Red Cross:  The vision of the Youth Red Cross is to become a leading humanitarian organization serving vulnerable people. The members of the club regularly take part in the various events and promote humanitarian services in society.

• Red Ribbon Club: The club organizes awareness camps on AIDS and Blood Donation at regular intervals in village areas. It equipped youth with correct information on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support.

• Alumni Association: Alumni association meets once a year. Alumni who are working in the companies regularly inform the college about the requirements of the companies.

• IEEE Club: This association is dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlie modern civilization.

• Equal Opportunity Cell: The cell provides an environment that supports diversity and respects everyone regardless of colour, religious belief or cultures. It also commits to ensuring the protection of everyone including minorities and acting as per the provisions of the constitution of India.

• Robotics learning and Development Cell: The programme encourages students to set up robotics laboratories. This helps in providing an incubation facility for budding engineers to become entrepreneurs. 

• Anti Ragging Committee: Anti-Ragging Committee of MCET ensures compliance with the provisions of the regulations as well as the provisions of the law concerning ragging is in force. It also monitors and oversees the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.

• Training and Placement Cell: The Training & Placement service of MCEToperates year-round to facilitate contacts between companies &  students. The aim of the centre is to ensure that students have the information and skills necessary for an effective job search.

• Women Empowerment Cell: The MCET cell was established to address the practical issues related to the welfare of and equal opportunities for women faculty members, staff and students.

• Internal Quality Assurance Cell: The aim of IQAC is to plan, guide, and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement activities of the Institution. 

• ECO Club: The club works with the objective to prevent global warming and create awareness about not to pollute the environment. It regularly organises activities related to the social contributions to the environment.

• Quiz Club: The objective of quiz club is to popularize quizzing activities among students and to encourage them to take part in all competitive examination at the state and central level. 

• Photography Club: The club is a blend of people who want to capture and create beauty. The club aims to create opportunities for everyone to discover the artist within themselves. It also gives them the platform to paint their dreams into reality.

• Media Centre and Recording Centre Facility at MCET: The media centre in the Institution has the facility of the still camera, Video camera and other accessories related to recording facilities. 

• Grievance Redressal Committee: The Grievance Redressal Committee addresses any grievances raised by students related to general administration, examination/evaluation and any other problems related to day to day functioning.
