LBSIM is an autonomous non-profit body registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The primary objective of the institute is to serve the industrial sector of the country in various fields of Management & Information Technology.

The institute offers professional education, highly experienced faculty, meticulously designed infrastructure, impeccable placements and rich academic experience. In addition to this, LBSIM is also known for its MDPs, Staff Development Programmes (SDPs) and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs). Besides conventional classroom teaching, the learning curriculum of LBSIM is supplemented with the display of video cassettes and modern teaching aids. Special focus is given on the individual and overall personality development of the students. Special short-duration MDPs, seminars, conferences and paper presentations are also organised from time to time. The students are also taken to various organisations for the purpose of plant visits and organisational study. In last decade till 2015, rating and placement of college was good, but as year passing rating and placement percentage of college was falling.

In 2019-20 about 30% of students get placed of EEE.

Even Campus life and Hostel facility are not too good.
