Which engineering course to choose if interested in biology and maths

gopi 31st May, 2025

Hello Ranjani sanjay,

If you have a solid interest in both biology and maths, an exceptional engineering pathway to explore is Biomedical Engineering because it combines concepts from biology, medicine and engineering to create and implement solutions in health-care technologies like systems for medical devices, prosthetics, and images. Other good options would include:

  • Biotechnology Engineering - This would focus on genetic engineering, molecular biology and bioinformatics.
  • Biochemical Engineering - This degree would combine chemical engineering principles with biological processes.
  • Bioinformatics - This degree would represent an integration of biology and bioinformatics concepts with topics in computer science and mathematics to analyze biological form.
  • Environmental Engineering - This would be an excellent choice for you if you had an interest in biological systems and sustainable solutions.

These fields allow you to apply your strengths in math while exploring the biological sciences in real-world applications.

Will I get cse in Jaypee sector 128 at 92% in class 12th board

kumardurgesh1802 26th May, 2025

Hello there,

With 92% in your Class 12th board, getting admission in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Sector 128 Noida, depends mainly on your JEE Main rank, as admission is based on JEE Main scores and board marks.

In previous years, the closing JEE Main rank for CSE at JIIT Sector 128 was around 1,40,000 for the general category. Board marks alone may not guarantee admission without a competitive JEE Main rank.

Recommendations:

  • Participate in the counselling process and check your JEE Main rank against the cutoff.

  • Consider related branches like Information Technology or Electronics and Communication Engineering if CSE cutoffs are high.

  • Keep backup options ready in other colleges.

Your board percentage is good, but focus on your JEE Main performance for better chances.

I can wrote only biology in cuet and I didnt wrote any of language or general test. can I get any admission through cuet related to biology

Rupsa Banerjee 2nd Aug, 2025

Dear aspirant,

Yes. You can still get admission through CUET with only Biology, but your options may become limited . Some universities and courses allow admission based only on domain specific subjects like Biology, especially for programs like B.Sc. But, many colleges also require the General Test or a language subject. It depends on the university and the course you’re applying for . Check the eligibility criteria on the official websites of CUET participating universities. Focus on colleges that clearly mention Biology as the only required subject. But remember that your admission is possible but your choices may become fewer.

Good luck.

Q1. I have got 47 marks in biology, 50 in physics, 54 in chemistry overall percentage is 57% in 12th boards 2025 Is i m eligible for Neet, CUET or other paramedical courses I am from general category Q2. What should I do by CUET, procedure for getting Admission in BHU, JNU, DU can I do D or B pharma or other paramedical courses by these Universities

Prachi Kumari 22nd May, 2025

Hello,

You have good marks in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, but your overall percentage is 57%. For NEET, general category students usually need at least 50% in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). So, you are eligible for NEET .

For CUET and paramedical courses, eligibility depends on the specific course and university. Many paramedical courses accept 50% or more, so you should check the exact criteria for each course.

To get admission in BHU, JNU, or DU through CUET:

  • First, register and appear for the CUET exam.

  • Score well in CUET as per the cut-offs for the course you want.

  • Apply for the courses you like during the university counselling based on your CUET score.

  • You can apply for D-Pharma, B-Pharma, or other paramedical courses if they are offered and you meet their eligibility.

Hope it helps !

Rajeswari 22nd May, 2025

Hello aspirant,

Eligibility criteria for NEET

The minimum percentage required in 12th for NEET is separate for each category. NEET eligibility marks in 12th to be considered only for PCB subjects. The criteria is as follows,

UR[general] - 50%

OBC/SC/ST - 40%,

PWD - 40%

Eligibility criteria for CUET

The educational qualifications for CUET UG,

  • General Category : Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in their Class 12 examination from a recognized board.
  • SC/ST Candidates : A minimum of 45% marks is required for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Eligibility criteria for Paramedical courses

The academic requirements for paramedical courses vary depending on the level of the course. For certificate and diploma courses, most institutions require candidates to have completed 10th or 12th grade from a recognised board, preferably with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Some reputed institutions may have minimum percentage criteria ranging from 45% to 60%, depending on the specialisation. For instance, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy might require at least 50% in the 12th with PCB subjects.

Hence, You are eligible for all the exams, whether it is NEET, CUET or any Paramedical course as you meet the required eligibility criteria.

Always remember, No matter what percentage, no matter what my numbers say in the sense of points, assists, rebounds and steals, it's always been about winning.

I need help regarding CUET UG 2025 college admission. I passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as my subjects. However, during CUET form filling, I accidentally missed selecting Physics as one of the subjects, though I had it in Class 12th and appeared for the board exam with it

Nikita shahi 31st Jul, 2025

Hii,

Unfortunately, CUET doesn’t offer corrections after submission, especially for subject selection. Missing Physics even though you had it in Class 12 means you may not be eligible for related courses that strictly require it like B.Sc Physics, Engineering, B.Sc Genetics, etc. However, you can choose courses where Physics isn't mandatory, check if the university allows submitting an additional subject.

Some universities may interpret your application flexibly, so reach out to their admissions offices promptly.

Hope you will find it helpful!
