Banking exams for undergraduate
HEY THERE!!!
If you are an undergraduate (having completed 12th or are going to appear for 12th) and would like to sit for bank exams, then the following are some things that you should know:
Banking Exams After 12th (Undergraduate Level)
1. Direct Bank Exams After 12th
- The majority of the top-level public sector bank exams (such as IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, SBI PO, SBI Clerk, RBI Assistant, etc.) necessitate a graduation level qualification in any stream.
- There are hardly any national-level bank exams available for candidates with only 12th qualification. The majority of undergraduate students are not eligible for the major banking recruitment exams until they graduate.
2. Banking Exams You Can Prepare For (After Graduation)
- IBPS Clerk, IBPS PO, IBPS SO, SBI Clerk, SBI PO, RBI Assistant, RBI Grade B, IBPS RRB PO/Clerk are the most popular and frequent bank job exams in India.
- Eligibility: Graduation in any subject from a recognized university.
3. Private Bank & Other Opportunities
- Private banks might have individual recruitment drives for clerical or sales positions taking 12th pass candidates, but these do not happen commonly and are more often not officer/managerial positions.
- Undergraduate programs of Bank Apprentice Programs (such as SBI Apprentice) sometimes accept undergraduates but mostly still recruit graduates.
4. Preparation During Graduation
Begin preparing for bank exams during college time. This will provide you with a solid base in Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness-the major subjects of all bank exams.
Syllabus comprises:
- Reasoning Ability
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
- General/Banking Awareness
- Computer Knowledge (for a few exams).
Summary
- You cannot sit for most government bank examinations right after 12th.
- Graduation is required for nearly all major bank recruitment examinations.
- Utilize your undergraduate years to study for these exams so you can apply the moment you graduate.
- For sporadic private bank or apprentice positions available to 12th pass, look for individual bank websites for advertisements.
In short:
Officer and clerk positions in government sector banks call for banking exams with a graduation requirement. Prepare now, and apply after you obtain your degree.
