Can I become a coder or a programmer after taking branch as electronics and telecommunication

Yes ofcourse you can become a programmer/coder with ECE(electronics and communication engineering) background because somewhere or the other you will get connected with the information about what actually programming is and how it is related to ECE  Let me tell you the difference (as far as i know) between CSE and ECE

In ECE you learn about chips which make the hardware where this programming is done. You learn about embedded engineering and all

In CSE (computer science and engineering ) you will have every thing which is related to developing of the software for the computer and improvising it We have so many programming languages which helps you to develop an application and also improving the computer hardware or software

The only thing you have to do in order to become a programmer/coder is to learn the programming languages which are easy i would say(as a cse student) but of course you should have a brief knowledge of programming and you should actually understand what and why programming languages are used.

Learning programming language will be a confused task for the beginner (i personally feel) because without proper training or without proper teaching the one who is willing to learn new language can never understand any programming language so i suggest to go to an institution where you will have tutors which are able to make you understand what is all about. Also you can check the "W3schools" website or application which will give you a brief description and also have so many languages you can learn. If you want to learn about java you can go with " javaTpoint" website where you can find everything about java I prefer learning by online websites because you will have knowledge without spending money

And also i want to tell you that for the beginners who are willing to become a coder have two options one is that you can be a front-end developer (usually coders/programers are called as developers) and second is that you can be a back-end developer Or you can be both depending on the languages which you are learning

Here front-end is all about the styling and designing part of the application or a website Some of the front-end languages are HTML, CSS, BOOTSRAP, ANGULAR JS, and also some other language

And comes for back-end its all about the storage of the data, transportation of the information from database(i think you know what a database is)

Some of the backend language are - Java, Php, Javascript, C, C++

By having both front-end and back-end programming one can develop a project (which is usually an application or a website or a game anything you may consider )

You can learn only backend or only front-end or both depend on the time and your requirements you can choose both also

If you are interested in coding and programming you can add a subject of programming in your course of ECE if your colleges allows it. But if you want to take up programming as a profession then you are suggested to takeup Computer Science Engineering. Also you can go for indivisual certificate programs in any of the coding languages along with your regular college course and then you can take up programming as a profession.
