Can I Do BEd. After 12th. I'm currently persuing Bcom Hons. and I want to become a teacher. I'm in First year of college. Can i start BEd now or after my graduation gets completed. What should i do
Based on 12th qualification, you can do diploma in elementary education/diploma in education, for BEd graduation is compulsory. You can apply for CTET afterwards, and after qualifying based on CTET scores you can apply for government as well as private schools, you can also go for TET which is conducted in state level, the thing is DElEd or DEd makes you eligible for teaching primary classes while BEd makes you eligible for higher classes and if in future you go for Master's degree, you can also become PGT(post graduate teacher).
Hi,
There are two ways for candidates to pursue B.Ed at the current time
1) those who have passed 12th can apply for integrated degree B.Ed programs like B.A -B.Ed, B.Sc -B.Ed etc.
2) those who have completed their graduation can apply for B.Ed course.
In many states of country B.Ed is now of two years course. So if one do integrated course it save his one year.
As you are already in first year and this is the time when academic year closes so you can have two choices 1) 1) apply for B.Ed course after completing your graduation.
2) you can drop this course and apply for integrated program.
According to me it will be more beneficial for you to complete the degree and then apply for B.Ed as you are already going to complete your first year and logic of saving one year will be not worth in your case.
Hope this helps.
The eligiblity criteria for admission to B.Ed. course is a graduation degree from any recognised university.
Afterwards you need to clear exam called Teacher Eligiblity Test (TET).
Then whenever the vacancy comes for any school, you can apply to it directly. For government schools, most states conduct their own eligibility tests and allot seats accordingly.
Good luck
