Yes, you have to submit a gap certificate as being a dropper for admission to your respective NIT college.
You can get it from any local district office near you and will cost you about 50 Rs. or so. And it is not compulsory to fetch it from your home state, you can get it from anywhere.
It includes the the time period of your Gap from 12th passing year to admission to the university.
