Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) conducts entrance test C-CAT for admission to its various postgraduate diploma courses. Admissions to all PG Diploma courses of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's Computerised Common Admission Test (C-CAT). Every year, C-CAT is usually conducted in June (for August admissions) and December (for February admissions)

• PG Diploma in Geoinformatics (PG-DGi)
• PG Diploma in Advanced Computing (PG-DAC)
• PG Diploma in Wireless & Mobile Computing (P-DwiMC)
• PG Diploma in System Software Development (PG-DSSD)
• PG Diploma in IT Infrastructure, Systems & Security (PG-DITISS)
• PG Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (PG-DESD)
• PG Diploma in VLSI Design (PG-DVLSI)
• PG Diploma in Automation & SCADA Systems (PG-DASS)
• PG Diploma in Integrated VLSI & Embedded Systems Design (PG-DIVESD)
COURSE FEES-
The fee for all PG Diploma courses (except PG-DBDA) is Rs. 90,000/- + GST on it as applicable at the time of payments. The fee for PG Diploma in Big Data Analytics is Rs 1.15 lakh + GST.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-
Different programmes have different eligibility criteria. The common eligibility condition is-
• Engineering Graduate in any discipline or equivalent (e.g. BE/B.Tech/4 years B. Sc Engg./ AMIE/ AIETE / DoEACC B level etc).
• PG in Engg. Sciences (e.g. MCA / M.Sc. Engg, M.Sc. (Computer Science, IT, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics, Instrumentation etc)
• The candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% (for some programmes 55%) marks in their qualifying examination.
• There is no age restriction for admission to C-DAC PG Diploma courses.
Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2018 will also be considered for admission to the above courses. By qualifying in C-DAC’s admission tests of December 2018, such candidates can apply for provisional admission in February 2019 batch, subject to the condition that:
-All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and
-Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 31 May 2019.
C-CAT EXAM FEES-
• For candidates who opt (in the online application) to use their own laptops for C-CAT, the examination fee for Category I (Section A) is Rs. 1000/-, for Category II (Section A & B), is Rs. 1200/- and for Category III (Sections A, B & C) is Rs. 1400/-.
• A computer usage charge of Rs. 200/- will be added to the above-mentioned fee, if the candidate opts in the online application to use the computer of the C-CAT center.
EXAM PATTERN-
C-CAT has three sections (Section A, Section B, Section C) of one-hour duration each. Depending on the course(s) applied by the candidate, he/she will have to either appear for just one test paper (Section A) or two test papers (Section A and Section B) or all the three test papers (Section A, Section B, and Section C). The medium of C-CAT is English.
Every section will have 50 objective-type questions of 3 marks each (maximum 150 marks for any one section). Each objective-type question in C-CAT will have four choices as possible answers of which only one will be correct. There will be +3 (plus three) marks for each correct answer and -1 (minus one) for each wrong answer. Multiple answers to a question will be treated as a wrong answer. For each un-attempted question, 0 (zero) mark will be awarded.
Section A: - English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning (1 hour)
Section B: - Computer Fundamentals, C Programming, Data Structures, Data Communication & Networking, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, Operating Systems (1 hour)
Section C: - Computer Architecture, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors (1 hour)
