According to your percentile in jee mains your general rank will be approx 1.2 lakh. With this rank there is very less chance that you can get seat in good NIT (in general category), so you should try to go for next attempt.

86 percentile is not a good score.
As you calculate your approximately rank it will come out to be more than 1.4-1.5 lakhs.(will change depending upon April exam ).
And with this rank it will be not possible to get good college.
You need to secure atleast 97+ percentile marks ( or under 25-30 thousand rank) to get a average college
